Nice! I haven't checked the air filter yet, since we bought it knowing there were problems. I just pulled it off and there is NONE.
I'll be picking one up and update this post.

Thanks Rich. Where is a good supplier? I found one on Amazon, but it's black.

You did ground the plug when you were checking for spark didn't you? You might as well order a coil, you won't be able to trust that plug boot. Rich I did not ground it, didn't think of that. Did I do something to break the plug boot by not grounding it, or is it just because everything fell apart?

I pulled the spark plug, when I took the coil wire off of the plug, that's when the spring, ceramic doodad and brass piece fell out.
I put it back together (probably all wrong) and attached the plug and hit the starter but I didn't see spark on the plug. I assumed I reassembled the coil wire incorrectly. I didn't get a chance to take pics last night of what those coil wire pieces look like.

Where does that little ceramic looking piece go? Above or below the spring?

I have a 50cc Linhai that sat for about two years. I cleaned the carburetor, replaced the battery, and filled the tank with fresh gas.
It will turn over, but not fire up.
I pulled the fuel inlet hose and blew through the fuel filter, then pulled the hose from the other side while I was cranking it and there is a dribble of fuel coming out as I cranked the engine over.
How much should normally come out?
I will need to take a picture of the ignition coil wire, when I pulled it off to check the plug, it looked like a ceramic cylindrical thing, a spring, and a brass threaded piece fell out. What the heck is that?

Thank you. I took a quick pass to see if it was covered, but admittedly I did not search for long.
I will take a look.
Thank you both!

I got this for my son from a guy who let it sit for a while, and it will need some work done.
I know I'll need to drain the tank and clean the carb, and he said that the electric starter wouldn't start it, he had to kick start it every time, so I'll work on that for my boy.
How do I know what engine I have so I can go about determining what steps to remove the carb, spare parts, etc?
