So I have a Jonway YY150T-2. It's taken a while to get it running, but now it finally is. The only problem I'm having is with the lighting. As I understand it, the headlights and tail lights are supposed to be on when the bike is running. They don't come on at all! However, my brights, brake lights, and turn signals all work. So my only issue seems to be with the running lights. I've looked at the wiring diagrams I found here, but honestly I'm not that good at understanding them, so any help you could give me would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hey ally, I got it figured out. My ignition switch had the kill wire going to nothing, so I connected it to where it should have been and now turning the key off kills the bike.

Thanks Alley, you are the BEST. Also, I'm fairly certain I have an AC CDI, I'd need to double check though. Currently I have all the body parts off, so the dash area wiring is exposed, what should I check for on the ignition switch to kill it?

Thanks Guitarman, I appreciate the answers. I'll check out the seafoam thread. And I did try searching for a few of these questions but maybe I wasn't being specific enough in the search. Or too specific. Thanks again.

I got this scoot a bit ago, and rebuilt the top end (had a bent valve), new rings, honed the cylinder, etc. Then I developed a rattling sound from the crankcase so I garaged it for a while. I finally got back into it last week and found that the timing chain guide (top one) was cracked! So I replaced that. Also, the castle nut that holds the starter clutch was really loose. So I tightened that and got some threadlocker on it just in case. So after putting everything back together with new gaskets and whatnot, I put the engine in and fired it up. It sounds GREAT. Much better than before. Additionally, I removed the EVAP system, and redid the whole wire loom to get everything nice, tucked, and tidy. I am SO STOKED. Also, my muffler has a rattle so I cut the tip off about 1" in and saw that I still can't get to whatever the problem is, so I'm leaving it for now, it's not really noticeable. But it sounds better this way... A lot meaner.
Anyway, thanks for reading. Here's where I get to some questions I've had on my mind. Any help in answering these would be GREATLY appreciated.
1. A/F mixture. I've read that I want to adjust it to where I have the highest idle. Does that sound good? Then after that I adjust the idle speed.
2. Charging system. I have a multimeter, how do I make sure the charging system is working? I just want to check.
3. Back wheel/tire. How the **** do you go about getting this on/off? I managed it today but it was a huge hassle, even completely deflated. The engine is in the way!
4. Kill switch/Ignition switch. Kill switch kills the engine. Simply turning the key to the off position does not. Problem?
5. Any benefits to upgrading stator?
6. Testing for air leaks. I've read you just spray places with carb cleaner and if the idle changes, there's a leak. Does this work?
7. Fuel gauge doesn't work. How to fix?
8. Rear break. I'm having trouble bleeding it. Tips?
9. Oil Best oil for a 150cc scooter? Motorcycle oil?
10. Fuel/oil additives. Any benefits?
11. Overheating. Summer is here and it's going to get hot. How do I tell if I'm overheating.
12. Tachometer Any recommendations/how tos?
13. Rejetting Any benefits?
14. CVT cover. Does it need a gasket, really?
15. Kickstarter. I took it out, should I put it back in?
16. Fuel Enricher How to check if it's working properly?
THANKS!

Thanks Alley, so if I deleted the EVAP system, I'll plug hole #1 correct? Valve hose goes to #2 which I'm assuming is an air/oil separator. #3 though broke off for me, should I just leave it open or make a new piece to put the hose on?

Thanks! So the one in the middle is for the Evap? And what about the broken piece on the right? Thanks.

Yep, they're on there. And in fact, my old variator didn't have those ( I had 2, somehow lost one, so I took them all off.) and the old one was way quieter!

Guitarman are you talking about the clutch? I never too that apart. I took the fan, belt, and variator off, put a new variator and belt on, then put the fan on. Eveything is where it should be. That's why this whole thing is so confusing.

-Clutch is fine, no sound coming from it. -Weights are stock Koso weights. -Belt is the exact same. -Fairly certain I put the variator on correct.

Yes Bashan, it makes the sound whether or not I have to cover on or off. It only makes the sound when i'm giving it the gas, and immediately stops when I let off the gas.

It makes the same sound when I run it without the cover.

Title pretty much says it all. I figured I'd replace the stock variator, as that's something I hear can improve the ride, while not having to do anything else. I bought a Koso variator with 12g weights. My stock had either 12.5g or 13g I forgot. After replacing it (I replaced the belt as well), I get this really loud clanking/rattling sound on acceleration that immediately stops when I let go of the throttle. I imagine this isn't normal. In addition to that, it feels a little sluggish on the takeoff, although my midrange accel have improved quite a bit. I was able to squeeze another 5mph on the top end too.
Any suggestions on what I should do next?
Thanks all!
