I guess the first stupid question I have is do I need to completely remove the muffler in order to take off the the cylinder head? cuz that's what's about to happen unless somebody speaks up real fast....

Not the muffler BUT YOU DO need to disconnect the PIPE(FLANGE) bolted to the EXHAUST MOTOR HEAD.

I think just maybe I found the problem. Kinda skeptical but just maybe. I'm no photographer but this isn't a photography contest either. I've never been so relieved to find something broken. Attachments:

Okay it's all back together up to where I need to do the valve adjustments. But when I turn turn the magneto by hand it seems as if it is catching or locked against something inside and it won't turn anymore. Is this normal or should I take it apart? I'm scared to screw it up after all this.

take the plug out and see if it will then turn easy. If it still does not want to turn then something is binding. By the way what all new did you put in?

new piston, rings, circlips, gaskets and two new big aluminum things that go onto the block, but not valve cover. Do you think that the chain came off the rear sprocket inside the main part of the motor?(is that the block?) I thought I did everything right but the chain was being a pain in the arse. how do I check the chains rear sprocket?

Tke the head back off. Then remove your plastic fan cover on right side (dur) then grab the chain with right hand and move the piston by turning the fan attached to the motor with the left hand. If the rear gear is attached to the chain it will move in your hand correctly. If the chain does not move when you rotate the engine or it moves weirdly, you will have to reattach it man  |
