Hello,
I am new to the forum and a new owner of a 2009 motofino QT-7 150cc scooter. I have owned a few motorcycles in the past. Its not in the best shape. Needs a front disk and brakes, probally needs rear brakes too. The fuel guage on the dash does not work. needs a muffler.
Can I use a 50cc muffler on a 150cc scooter? as long as its from a gy6 motor?
it starts easy, runs great, good acceleration, a little hard to stop.

I've never owned a 50 but I'm pretty sure you can't use a 50 on a 150. The reason I say that is on the vendor's sites they make a distinction between the 50 and 150 exhausts. They don't lump them together. Also, there's different ways 150 exhausts bolt to a 150 so you have to make certain they are compatible. Our tile vendors at the top are very knowledgeable and helpful and could get you the right part. A little hard to stop? Three out of four is not bad. Rich

The only issue is the where it mounts to the scooter. They have the same size exhaust manifolds, they just don't have the right mount points, sometimes they have an immediate bend after the manifold(on the 150s), and the 50s exhaust wont fit :/

Thank you guys for the replies. Good info !! I know this will be a great place for information.
I found one local for a 50cc. I looked really close at it and the flange,(I think that what it called, the start end of the muffler that connects to the motor), looks to be the same, the pipe seems to be bent/shaped correctly. I notice where the muffler mounts further back, looks like it lines up with a hole on the motor. the bolt is broke off though, going to have to tap it out. Its a pretty nice looking pipe. I go get some pics and add links .

Two things: 1. That is indeed called the flange and don't forget to use an exhaust gasket. 2. The header attached to the bike is the most sorry arse looking piece of exhaust I have ever seen.

The header is stock. I am the second owner. I think the support bolts for the muffler on the motor broke first. Then idk what happened to the original muffler. That part of the pipe is all that is left. Original owner tried to have someone weld it back, but w/o any support it broke away quickly.
Thanks for the feedback
