Hey guys. I didn't see a welcome/new member section, so I am kind of just jumping in here. I'm 25, a Marine Corps Infantry Combat Veteran, car salesman by trade, and have a passion for anything with a motor. I had a Tao Tao 50. It was an alright little scoot since it had less than 1,000km's and I bought it for $100, and he delivered it. He wasn't real tech savvy and it just needed a good valve adjustment. Well I absolutely love the Ruckus, however I don't love anything about the price. I sold my F350 and had quite a bit left over after I paid it off. So I ordered me a decent clone. I feel like I got a pretty decent deal. It was $989 including shipping to my door in North Carolina and a truck with a lift gate service to help. Now if the thing would ever get here, that would be great (not a patient guy lol).

Alright guys... I have some questions;
1. I have seen a lot of these stretched and fitted with Ruckus parts. Does anyone know if they are identical enough that Ruckus equipment will bolt on (Stretch parts and so forth)?
2. I have been looking at a decent performance cam. However, I plan on riding this thing as a daily driver when the weather is good so I need some help. I am looking at the A9 or A10. However I am open to tips and suggestions and would like the best bang for the buck even if I have to purchase Titanium Springs.
3. What is the proper break in procedure on a new 150cc China Scoot? I know I need to Immediately drain the el cheapo oil out and refill with a good break in oil.
4. Last, but not least, is there anything else I should do as far as maint and such when I break my scoot in? I already ordered a nice aftermarket cooling fan, a nice Gates brand belt, NGK plug, and one of these bad boys:

Now that last one wasn't really a need, but it'll look absolutely sick and provide more information for me. Like I said before guys, any and all help, tips, or tricks is welcomed and would be greatly appreciated!

I'm just here to welcome you to the forum. For actual mechanical help on these bikes, you're waiting for any one of about 5 or 6 of our members to drop in and give you some answers. No,... I'm not one of them. Look for Alleyoop, Bashan, JR, Cyborg, Kz or a couple of others.

#1. Yes the stretch parts will fit.
#2. Why are you looking for a cam? the A9 is a high revving cam and the A10 is for low end torque.
For a daily driver leave the cam it comes with in which is usually a A8, gives good low end and good top end.
#3. For the first 100 miles vary the speed do not ride it at a certain speed for long periods of times. Which is usually hard to do anyways since most folks live where there are stop signs and stop lights every so often. But the rings will seat within the first 20miles or so. So just vary the speeds bring it up to 40-45 or so and run for a few minutes then bring it down to 30-35 do not run it at WIDE OPEN THROTTLE for the first 50 miles at least.
#4. I would question the cooling fan you bought IF it was sold as a performance cooling fan. They do not push enough air and the FANS the motors come with are much much better and do a better job of cooling.

For a littel more top end speed you may want to get a 115mm Variator to replace the OEM 107mm one. That and some weight changes you can get some good top end mph at of the cvt.

Hey thanks to everyone! Glad to find a supportive community that gets into scoots. I guess I would say I am more of the radical/unusual type. I can't own anything that's stock... I don't know why. I think it's the gear head in me maybe. I just really get into unique stuff and stretched scooters have really caught my attention. And if I can look bad@ss and get 50 or 60 miles to the gallon... Well that there would be down right awesome!I appreciate all the useful info. Hoping to find some guys in my area that might be into meeting and cruising. I have noticed some rucksters out and about. I guess we will see.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I think most of us here are in the can't leave stuff alone category. Always looking for a little more performance, speed, reliability, or just a cool factor. We have a lot of knowledgeable folks here. We also have a lot of fun.

Wow...I can get into that lol. I have had s10's with built small blocks, foxbody mustangs, etc. My most recent toys were my 2010 Challenger RT 6 Speed Hand Shaker, and my 2004 F350. Both were far from stock... Closest thing I have built to a scooter would be my 212cc OHV Honda clone motor on a minibike. I weighed 250lbs at the time and it did 60mph lol. Now it is scooter time.

The cool thing about scooters is that you can play around with the Chinese builds for a relatively small amount of money. You can get a GY6 engine for a few hundred bucks and improvise your way into a fun build for a few hundred more. If it needs repair you didn't break the bank. It's a fun hobby. Rich

Yea that's what i noticed when i had my Tao Tao 50. And, I think Rucksters are bad@ss, but think the price is absurd. So it seems a Chinese Ruckus 150cc clone is perfect for me. And as previously stated, I had one shipped to the door with a one year warranty and lift gate service for $989. How could I say no?
