Great, so it is working the VACUUM line goes on the SMOOTH CONNECTOR and the Black HOSE GOES on the KNURLED connector, It is pumping plenty of fuel.

Could the intake manifold have a crack ?? Should I check the gravity feed set up just to start eliminating stuff  |

That sucker is running LEAN. Try this Turn the fuel ratio mixture screw COUNTER CLOCKWISE 3 1/2 turns and see if it idles better and stays runnning.  |

That could be an issue but to me the symptoms you describe that as it warms up it dies slowly tells me too much fuel,,, running rich and while cold it's alright but as it warms up it's getting too much fuel ,, that's what it seems to me

I would try gravity but that's me. I like to just start taking things off of the table one by one. The fuel delivery is probably OK but I'd do the experiment. I keep manifolds around to swap out but pull it off of there and inspect it, you might have a crack. Bend it around sometimes the crack appears. Is it down tight? Is the gasket OK? Do you have the rubber ring in the manifold? Is the air filter clear? Is pre-carb air delivery secure yet unobstructed? We've had people have something displaced in the air induction system. Is this exactly the same thing it did with the other carb?

Well we have two different suggestions I say to LEAN Rich says to RICH, I say tomatoes rich says potatoes.  So you have two things to try Turn the Fuel Ratio Mixture Counter clockwise for more fuel and if that does not work then Turn the Fuel Ratio Mixture Clockwise for less fuel, pretty easy tests to see which way it runs better and stays running then we can work on fine tuning it. Actually Cyborg said too rich, he stole my avatar. I'm not sure on the rich and lean issue and I agree Alley, do the A/F screw before anything else. It's simple and may show us something. Also, I put out the list of things to do as a way of saying he needs to get systematic here and eliminate things one by one. I've even made checklists and gone down one by one so I didn't forget. I've also checked things twice and found the problem the second time around aka doing the same thing twice. Einstein's credo may apply to physics but not scooters IMO.

Hey i could be wrong,,,but running then slowly running more and more poorly then it dies as it warms up reads rich to me,,,but i've been wrong before,,,and won't be the last time either unfortunately

Ok here's a wild toss into the ring,,carb diaphragm have a small hole or tear?,,,letting the slide and needle slowly drop down and starving the engine?

That's why I asked him about the other carb, that crossed my mind. If two did it that's unlikely but it wouldn't hurt to pull the dome and look. The needle doesn't lift at idle but his is cranking up so much it could be a factor.
Hey Pissedmoped, did you ever pull the sparkplug and look at it?

Going to be doing the gravity thing tomorrow, need to find an old-ish school gas can with a vent nub in back, checked around nobody sells them anymore, and I have all newer ones, But I think one of my friends has one but he's not home right now. If and when I pull the ex manifold what is the torque on the bolts? if there is any. I did look here www.chinesescooterreference.com/pdf/GY6Manual.pdf on page 8 it has torque values but nothing that says manifold. |

Maybe I missed something along the way....But I have read this whole thread. Have you solved the gas in vac line problem? As stated above, your fuel pump diaphragm is bad. Any gas dumping through the carb, would be sucked into the cylinder as soon as the intake vave opened, not forced into a line leading to a closed system. The gas in your vac line is leaking by your fuel pump diaphragm. I might suggest a Mikuni pump, they are a good one, and rebuild kits are available for them. Also replace the vac line that has the screw in the end with a proper vac cap.

Indeed, I forgot we went over that! Yes, if the lines are hooked up correctly then it is probably a leaking diaphragm. In any event, I still think the gravity feed test would help prove out "the leaking diaphragm scenario." By the way, that is the title of a Sherlock Holmes book that was never published. Rich
