Is there a way to tell which stator I need without removing the flywheel? I've ordered the flywheel remover tool (waiting for it to arrive). Still waiting on starter gear to arrive as well. I'd try to remove the flywheel the other day (with another style remover), I couldn't get it off. Now the scoot won't start, and I'm afraid I may have damaged the stator. I have little to no spark. Thanks.

Need to know what motor you have also Take a look at the wires coming out from the stator HOW MANY what color the wires are and the PLUG some of the wires go to. Then you can match it to a stator for that motor and the harness it has.

BUT I HAVE TO ASK WHY are you messing with the STATOR in the first place?

I was trying to remove the bell and stator in order to get at the starter gear. I used the wrong to. I damaged some of the coil it looks like. The flywheel puller came today. The bell came right off. The scooter is a 150cc. Thanks.

Ah so you have a bad Starter Clutch? If so yes you have to take the flywheel and stator off and then the plate to get at the Starter Clutch.

Yes alleyoop. You were helping me in another post I did. By the picture can you tell what style of stator I need? Thanks.

It is an 8 pole stator, pic is not to clear but it looks like one of the poles is wrapped which is a dedicated pole to power the CDI so you have an AC stator. But Look at the wires you probably have a RED/BLACK and a BLUE/WHITE and three more which go to a plug So you want to match all five wires.

Look at these stators and match it with yours THE WIRES.
If your not sure take pictures of the wires coming from the stator. But I bet you have two stand alone wires one BLACK/RED and one BLUKE/WHITE and then 3 wires going to a plug WHITE/YELLOW/GREEN.
