its been awhile since I posted here. recently picked up an old military Signal Corps generator from 1943. serial number says it came from the navy. engine's a Jacobsen.

The similar Maytags we played with in my youth weren't hit-n-miss. They were the same as yours and ran constantly just like the generator motor.

They were the same as yours and ran constantly just like the generator motor. they weren't by chance the little 2 cylinder maytag model 72's were they? those are the only ones I know of that don't have the hit n miss governing system like the model 92's do.

They were single cylinder used on washing machines. We used them to power a 'go cart'. We didn't have any hit-n-miss engines like yours but many neighbors did.
