So I've been pretty adept at repairing chinese mopeds however I have a question that may seem simple to some. What is the overall difference between a 3 port and a 4 port petcock? Is it critical? Does it have to do with amount of vacuum supplied?

Is the petcock in question attached directly to the gas tank? Or is it mounted via the frame/elsewhere?

As far as I van tell there is no other difference than an additional hole to be plugged. Either way, I had so many troubles with the diaphragms in them tearing that I just switched to a manual cut off valve and havent had a single problem since.

It's attached to the frame. I left out that little detail didn't I? The old petcock has 4 ports and has been sitting for over a year unused. The one that the local parts store has is a 3 port. So before purchasing I wanted to make sure it wouldn't affect anything. It seems to be my only problem with the scooter so far.
