I bought a 2005 Yamaha Vino 2 Stroke that the owner claimed had a slipping clutch. It didn't have any acceleration power on hills which made sense.
This is what is happening:
I can fully accelerate the scooter and hold it back with my hands. When the clutch lever is in, the scooter will not hit peak RPM when turning the throttle. It runs fine on flat and once it has some speed it seems normal. It will not move when trying to take off on an incline. The previous owner had bypassed the fuel cock and it will not start when it is reinstalled. This made me think that there is a vacuum leak.
I've replaced the clutch bell and shoes, as well as the spring. The spark plug and coil, intake, intake gasket, reed valves, air filter. I've tried a compression test and it was good, the fuel and lines are good. Carb is clean. I'm now replacing the crank seals. Next I'm thinking that the case could have a leak. Or I'm wondering if the variator is worn out or getting jammed or something.
I'm looking for suggestions and advice! Please help, let me know if there is any other info you need!
