Hi ,new to this forum and jumping straight in for help. Inherited a non runner Piaggio Skipper , checked the fuel system all OK checked spark could find nothing few day later kick started a hey presto ran like it should. It has worked well until a few days ago runs to town 17 kms and on three occasions has died on the way back (message in there somewhere) leave it for 15 minutes and it kick starts again . Reluctant on self starter ,battery is sound so what now ? It now refuses to start at all ? Fuel system is 100 % Would appreciate any input. Thank you , John Newton Plettenberg Bay South Africa

Is the system charging? Before it starts the battery should read 12.7 volts and when it's running should read 13.5 or so. Check across the poles with a volt/ohmmeter set on volts DC. If that's ok, something is breaking down when warm like the coil or CDI unit. When they cool you're running again. They need to be replaced.

Check the valve gaps then I would replace the pick-up coil on the stator flywheel. They are known to act as you describe when old and hot...
