I have this scooter I picked up from a friends, was siting outside for a while. I replaced a bunch of lines that were cracked, and put a used but charged battery in it. It starts up and then dies maybe 5 seconds later.
Replaced the fuel, fuel filter, lines, checked for vac leaks, replaced the cdi, coil, and battery.
I cleaned the carb, still does the same thing.
When I start it up and give it more throttle it shuts off completely.
One thing at a time, 1.Do you have a PETCOCK(Tank is Higher the Carb) or Fuel Pump(Tank is Lower than the 2. 2.Take the INTAKE VACUMM hose off and see if it is WET. It could be that gas is flowing through the Vacumm line which will Flood it. a. If the Vacumm Line is Wet get a New Petcock or Fuel Pump whichever one you have.
3. Turn the Fuel Ratio Screw CLOCKWISE until it Stops Don't force just until it stops. 4. Then Turn the Fuel Ratio Screw Counter Clockwise 2 Turns.
Since you took the Carb apart, Take the Fuel Ratio Screw completely out. Make sure there is a Spring, Tiny Washer and Tiny O-Ring. You could have dropped them and without the O-Ring it will Flood the engine. Here is a picture of a CV carb which should look like yours so you know the Parts on it and a picture of HOses around the carb and what they are: Alleyoop Left Side Of Carb:
