i read it was 7oz for the 54-250b. but I also read where someone said to fill it to the top, which is it? I put in 7oz.

The Linhai 257cc engine takes 8-1/2 ounces of gear lube.

Just looked up the gear oil capacity of both the Honda clone MC 54 250B and the Linhai MC 54B 250 owner hand books on the Rocketa web site and the capacity was the same for both.

Full capacity: 0.11L - according to a converter program on the web that would be 3.72 fluid ounces.

I know when I did it I just pushed in from the plastic bottle till it came out the hole. I let it drain a bit from the over fill position, then put the bolt back in. How much was that? Don't know but I got that idea from somewhere.

thanks folks, I have seen the 3.72 oz but wondered if that was a bit lite. guess I'll leave the seven till I change it, it doesnt seem to hurt it. I too overfilled it at first because thats how you do the 150cc so i thought it would be the same.

I have no idea about the 244cc Honda clone engine but the 257cc Yamaha clone engine takes .25L or 8.45 ounces. I would go by the Yamaha service manual long before any recommendation from Roketa. In addition, I measured the amount of gear oil that drained from my Vog at the first lube change and it was just a bit more than 8 ounces.
