I was out riding my motor scooter (Riketa 250 54B) yesterday morning and got a boo-boo...well lots of them.

I was riding on a section of newly re-paved roadway when the trafic stopped and I didn't. Actually I did but not in the conventional manner. I skidded on the oily pavement snd laid the scooter on it's side at 60 mph. WOW, I can't tell you how hot fresh black roadway is on a sunny 90 degree day. Especally when it's peeling off your skin..LOL

Bottom line; watch out for new pavement it's much more slipery or you too could spend your day in the ER. I sprained my left wrist, broke my right wrist and broke my right leg. O'yeah, I also left a lot of skin on the roadway.

Sorry for any typos but it's hard to type with one finger on each hand sticking out of a cast.

So I guess I'll be off my ride for a while. Actually I can't even walk using the sticks because of the wrists. So my wife is stuck pushing me around the house in a wheelchair. Nope can't even do that myself......... But boy the drugs are working great.

Thanks guys, Just got back from the bone man and he said the good news is only 8 weeks for my wrists. Bad news 1 weeks for my leg. Damn, this getting old sucks......

so sorry you got hurt. I'm in the same boat as you current- can't ride due to broken right hand. Done for the season. But there is always next year!

the ants must be fiesting on your scraped skin on the road,,yawk!!...but good to hear you're still in one piece(minus some skin,lol). ..been there done that...sand/gravel/oil leaks and standing water are all two rider's worst enemies,avoid them if you want to live..
ride safe, happy to know your'e out of danger...

no, a barbell was accidently dopped on it. I have pins in my rt hand all ove the place and tons of detached tendons that had to be repaired. Hand is a mess. cast is off now and I am going to physical therapy. Pain is extreme. expected to get 80 percent of function back over a 12 week time period. but hey, i can function at 80 percent! grip will be weak.
