I know when cleaning air filter you use kerosene to soak and sqeeze out, then put k&n oil spray on it my question is can you use wd40 to spray on the air filter if you don't have the oil spray wd40 is also a lubricant ;D

I don't know which filter you are cleaning, but the ones I have seen say to use dish washing soap and water. Let it dry and then add air filter oil. WD 40 is entirely unsuitable for this use. Use the right stuff if you can get it. If not, use chainsaw bar oil, gear oil and stuff like that that has body and won't drip off, get sucked into the carb, or settle to the bottom of the filter and leave the top dry.

I've had two K&Ns, on a Viper and my Vulcan 1500. Those are the only kind of filters you use K&N oil on. Nulldevice is exactly correct WD40 is not acceptable for a filter (where's Sprocket, he'd be ranting by now!). Uni filters use an oil and they have one specific for their filters. If your filter doesn't call for an oil don't use any, some do, some don't. Rich
