Greetings,
My name is bucky joe, I am a two-scooter sidewalk commando from Seattle, Washington. U.S.A. Good to be here.
Before I get started lets get one thing out there straight away. Upon researching my new - used Chinese parts scoot on-line, well, ...I found only unfavorable reports (...death trap? :-O ) as to the quality of the machine so was mildly disappointed. But hey, not for long.
---------------------------------
Got a free Geely JL 150-T 5 from a guy at work. Title too. It had been laid down a couple of times, left and right, ugh. Anyway I really liked the wheels so I hauled it home to get beyond the body panels for an amateur inspection. Humm, heavier than it looks.
Dude. unreal. This thing is a beefcake. Totally stout. MING HO! Big heavy alloy rims w/ 12X4 tires, disks front and back, super knarlin' stubbed off motorcycle type forks secured into a cast attachment knuckle that has got to weigh 10 lbs., and a 150 four stroke. Hell I don't know for sure, maybe it got brazed together with coat hangers in some cruddy, dank, soot saturated sweat shop - and a lot of guys say there is a high probability my scoot smells. Yeah, I disagree. This scoot, the JL 150-T 5 is a keeper.
The short story is, I'm already having a great time with the Geely although it not running; just getting it ready for Spring.
Grin n' Buzz Me,
buck

Welcome! There are a lot of haters out there for china scoots, but there are a lot of us that love them as well.

Welcome to the forum.. Yeah, Geely got a bad rep right off for selling scooters that they provided no parts or service for. If it broke under warranty, it was just exchanged and the old one sent back to the warehouse. I don't know about the 150's, but the biggest prob with the 50's was that they used nylon sprockets. Not an insurmountable problem, as a lot of owners would just take the sprocket to a machine shop and have metal ones cut.
Long as your happy, (and ya can't beat free for something to play around with), enjoy the ride..
