Most of the 50s ive seen have some sort of use for vacuum lines. Since i have changed over to a gravity fed fuel delivery I have only one vacuum port on my intake and its plugged off. What if anything else is using vacuum to operate? Carb slide maybe?

Nope, other things would be EMISSION stuff that would use vacuum to operate a valve that opens with suction and closes without does your scoot have emission stuff on it? Alleyoop

The valve on the Valve cover is not Vacuum operated BUT there should be a Canister or another Valve up there that is Vacuum operated. On the canister there should be another hose just hanging there the PAIR system all it does is SUCK in fresh air into the EXHAUST port. So if you took off the Vacuum from that Canister or Valve then it is not getting fresh air into the EXHAUST port. Is the chrome pipe curved pipe on the valve cover by chance turning blue. Alleyoop
