I got it running. The starter was cranking slow, so I took it apart and oiled the rear bushing and cleaned the commutator. I put in the old r/r and it fired up.I put in the new r/r and it ran, but it was still putting out too many volts. So i put in the other new bigger r/r and the volts stayed around 14. Since was running pretty good I put in the old cdi And it ran, then I Tried the old coil and it ran. Put in the new stuff and it ran. Now it won't. Since it's not running I took a bunch of stuff off, the carb, the plastic cover around the cylinder, the tranny cover, etc. When I can I'll post a picture of what under the intake manifold.

Hi. A little background, because I have worked on cars .trucks and heavy equipment my nephew came to me with his scooter problems. It was first to replace the throttle cable two times and then to remove the rear wheel to have the tire fixed. That wasn't to bad.Last fall it wouldn't run. That's when I started learning about stators,cdis,r/rs, and a bunch of other stuff. It got too cold to work on it ,so it sat in my yard for the winter. In the meantime my nephew bought a car and did not need the scooter any more so I bought it from him. So, the problem.I replaced the stator, the coil, the plug and the cdi and had it running.I checked the voltage at the battery and it was 15 volts at an idle. So I got a new voltage regulator. Now it won't run.The question is ,can the high voltage burn out the cdi or the coil? It's a '08 Baja SC50. Sorry if this has already been adressed but I didn't have much luck with the search. The little dog's name is Scooter.
