Just wanted to update... got it working and left the PAIR device flailing around. Scooter seemed to run and idle smooth at the initial 2 and 1/2 turns out.. so I left it there.. could/should I have adjusted further?

That's definitely where it connects. I guess ill try and find where it belongs and connect it. Unless you think it would be beneficial to remove. It sounds like its nothing anyway. Haha. Thanks

Hey all, 150cc Roketa Sicily, i'm in the process of replacing the carburetor, and had a few questions... 1. When installing a new carburetor, are there any tips/protocols that should be followed as far as first-time tuning and etc? Do I need to do anything special or just place it in? 2. In the picture attached, I noticed when I removed my seat, there was a line running from the component in the top right of the picture, and the line ended down near the bottom of the carburetor, but I didn't see anywhere it should be connected to- for the sake of knowledge and fixing: What is that part, and where does that line belong? Thanks for your help!

Hey all, Last night I was doing some maintenance that I hadn't done before, as I was getting prepped for the season. My scooter was purchased from a friend, who bought it from a local dealer, who he said took care of all of the original maintenance... lo and behold when I went to change my gear oil... nothing came out!! 3 drops of dirty black oil. I thought maybe it was just clogged somehow, so I rocked the scooter... nothing. So I took some of the new gear oil and squirted it in, and to my amazement it flowed straight out. That's means there was NO GEAR OIL... I'm not sure how long that went for, though it had never had an oil leak. Filled it back up and its driving better than ever! (A/F adjustment, Carb Cleaning, Idle Adjusted, PDI, Motor and Gear oil change)
Has anyone else had any startling finds on their scooter?

I don't know you PJ, but I wish you luck and a speedy recovery!
As someone who has worked closely with transplant patients, I know the first couple days are going to be hard, but it'll get better fast!

Things I know so far: I have continuity from the Negative terminal to the frame.
Why I oughtta!!
Actually, I'm glad for you and I'm sure you learned a lot. Don't be a stranger and share your riding experiences with us as well as your tech issues. Rich
Haha... sorry, that was my first thought too! I think it was an intermittent failure. Because I absolutely checked that first, since it was an issue once before that "fixed" itself (which concerned me). Thanks so much for all of the help everyone. I really appreciate it. And I do plan to stick around!

Success! I was scouring for any potential bad grounds, and the one from the battery to the frame, the bolt had rust all over it... I cleaned it up and sanded, and it works!
Out of curiosity, I hooked the old switch up and it did not work, so it must've been both issues. I'm so glad to have it back together. Now I just need to fix my kickstarter, and probably adjust my a/f, and see how it runs!

rule out a ground problem John Just to be sure, should both clips be on the negative terminal? And what should I be looking for?

get two jumper wires with aligator clips , connect one jumper to the neg batt and the other end to the engine . then connect the other jumper wire to the battery neg and the other end to the frame . John What will that do?

I think you have a ground issue somewhere.. and unfortunately you will likely need a multimeter to find it... I have a multimeter. Or do you mean one with a tone for continuity?

Okay... so I just re jumped with the solenoid, and this time my turn signals and lights worked, as did the horn.... but when I would honk the horn it would struggle, like it wasn't getting enough power, then when I held it in for a second it choked the scooter off. I'm so confused. Lol

Right hand side of a GY6 engine behind the fan and flywheel.. the wires usually come out on top of the black fan cover... Okay.... so I got my new switch and put it in... still doesn't start. Same symptoms as before. I ran the switch tests and got the same results... this must be an issue somewhere else I would think... unless I got unlucky and got a bad switch again. Also, the wires coming from the stator are a red/white, then in a bundle red, white, green and yellow.

Zouri, can you look and see if you have three yellow wires coming from your stator? If you need help with that let me know. Rich I can check tonight. Ive got an ignition switch that I matched up on order. My biggest question is where the stator is .

Okay, so I was talking to Greg briefly, since I had a few concerns about whether or not this would fit, since that one is different that how mine looked, but I wasn't sure if they were interchangeable at all.
So, I guess tonight I am going to get some pictures of mine, so I can line up the mounting brackets.
