I don't know were your located Richard v but there is a kymco 125 for sale in butler pa for 500 dollars seems like a fair deal. It has 2200 miles on it. Thanks for the heads up but finances and being in Appleton, Wisconsin kind of rules that one out. It will probably be close to six months before I can start seriously looking for a quality ride.

On your scooter isn't there a way that you can jump out the controller to make darn sure the problem is in fact there in the controller ?
If that is the case I would check out some of those stores on the net that sell parts for electric bicycles. I am guessing that you could find one that had voltage and current ratings that would work for you in the $45-50 range. If that's all it would take to put you back on the road it would be a shame to put the scooter in the trash.

Thanks for the links. The two non-ebay sites look promising. The biggest problems are that it's 24 volts, brushless motor and auto feedback. Those all drive up the price and I'm not sure if any shown will work. I haven't scraped it yet. Just moved it to the basement of the apartment and bought a regular used pedal bike to get around. I had to put my manly seat on it though.

With 8 wires going to the motor I wouldn't know where to start by passing the controller so a couple days ago I disconnected all un-necessary connections according to ElectircScooterParts.com site. I got the same results, it just shuts off and will go again when the switch is turned off and back on.
Yesterday I got the "generic" controller from them and made the necessary connections. The only thing different was the connectors for the throttle so, I made a simple jumper. All I get is a vibration and make a chatter sound but no motion. The throttle checked out to there specs and the battery, after the road test and sitting for 2 days, still showed 27 volts.
I just sent an e-mail about this to Electric Scooter Parts and will wait on there reply. They have been very quick with that. I still haven't heard from the bikes maker, e-Moto.
So I'm still not scootin along on these beautiful days. Have to keep on pumpin that pedal bike. Or burning gas in the truck. Walking works to but some how those just aren't as much fun.
