A few weeks ago I changed the sliders in my variator to 14 gram, from 12 gram. The reason for the change was discussed in another thread...but anyway I couldn't be happier with the results. I've logged 241 miles with the new setup...my last two fill ups have provided an average mpg of 82.69.(184.9miles, 2.236 gallons) For all of last summer my scoot got 76.71mpg. I don't care about acceleration times, too old to be in much of a hurry. Still has plenty of hill climbing ability, and just loafing along at 5400 to 5700 while running my preferred 40 to 45mph, is bound to extend the life of my little engine.
With a more conservative driving style than most, this change in weights, has far exceeded my expectations.....My scoot and I are both happier....Bob
