Hello all I am trying to put new front pads on my scoot and I have put an hour into it without success. I pushed the piston all the way in and the little rubber gromets on the bracket are pushed in toward the piston. I am stumbled and shocked I can't get it. I don't want to file down the pad. If anyone has had this problem and sweeted it like me and im doing something wrong please chirp in. Thanks john. Looking in the library to see if im missing something. Seems a bit rediculious to file factory pads.

Ended up getting it the second time around. Once I loosened the caliper bracret screw just one it wen't right on. Wow kinda sweeted it a little but got it and my 500 mile oil change in and a bath to the scooter. Took it for a test spin and the brakes didn't work very well until like th 10th 15th time I pulled them in. I wonder how many miles this little scooter will go before trashed. Seems to still run pretty strong. Wish it did better on the hills.

GOOD JOB, where there is a will there is a way. On the hills do the rpms drop on it? If so you may want to put in little lighter weights even going down a half gram makes a big difference to keep the rpms up going up a hill. Alleyoop

Alley what tools are required for this procedure of weights and how hard is it to do. The weights are in the valirator right. I think I would have to purchase a tool to hold the varilator I do not have an impact. I should probley consider changing them my rpms go way down with hills and scooter bogs. I am pretty heavy though so that is probley part of the problem.
My scooter does well with me on flat streatches of road can go 45 50 without a problem but these hills are killers for this little scooter. Worried that it is going to fail with me on the hills. I need to watch the video in the liabary about the rollers again.

The puck isn't going in so you can get the pads over the rotor or what?
I'm not sure what your problem is but don't start filing! They are not going back together for a reason. The tensioner spring fits like this:
Here's the outer pad positioned properly behind the tabs:
Then the inner against the pucks:
If postioned properly they move like this:
Now, is this the problem? It won't slide over the rotor like this?
If so, try releasing some pressure off of the system with the bleeder valve and then push the pucks back into the caliper:
This is all in the Library under "Frame, Body, Wheels, Brakes, Tires" but the thread can be viewed right here. There are also other tutorials and videos on brake service on this board. But I'll be glad to help you out JV, just explain the problem in more detail if I didn't just cover it. Rich

I am watching you bashan. I ended up loosening the bolt on the bracket for the caliper and it went right on. I did look in the library and found your totoral I have one piston not two but all taken care of. Need to look into the rollers like alley talking about might help with hills around here. Rollers are in the varilator right? You should invest in a nice pair of sandles there great.

12 mm socket does the hole brake change no allen wrench needed. The pads were less than a dime.
