How far is it to the lighthouse from your place KZ? Looks like a cool ride. I have to agree with the dude on every point. The only difference is he accepts it all. I say it all sucks. Rich

When I lived on Long Island, Montauk Point was about 100 miles away. Now I'm 180 miles from there. I was thinking sometime in the future I would load up Rocket in the minivan and transport it down there. Then it would be a nice 200 mile round trip on very flat roads. Rocket would eat that up. My buddy down there has a 250 Virago in his fleet. We would have a nice small displacement tour.

HAHAHA, Yep, I was a printer then got drafted back in june of 1965 got to Vietnam Jan of 1966 got shot in the head in June right through the steel pot, they bald me and stitched me up and back out 2 weeks later. I was scheduled to be home for XMAS of 1966 finished with my tour of Vietnam. But in November we hit the snits and lost half of our Platoon we had 44 guys and we were down to 23. I was a Squad leader and I was all packed and what they call a short stick which means you have only 30 days before being shipped back home your tour over. But because we only had 23 guys left the lieutenant made me go out and we really hit the snit and that is when I got 3 rounds on my left side, 1 above the knee 1 in my left hip and 1 in my left arm really messed me up Dec 17Th of 1966. Spent 67 and half of 68 in the hospital, they fused the hip I have no ball and part of the cup left and am 4 inchs short, Have to have my left shoes and sneakers built up got married in Oct of 68.
Went back to work at the printing place but since you needed two hands to work on those printing presses I could not do it because I needed a cane to walk so they switched me to mounting plates on the rollers. I could not see myself doing that so I went to the VA for rehabilitation on something else to make a living. They tested me and said well you can do this and that and one of them was computers. I picked computers they sent me to programming school for an entire year downtown Chicago.
Graduated on a Monday Had a Job with TIME INC on Wednesday and the rest is history. With Pansophic Systems I worked myself up to manager then when CA bought Pansophic Systems out I was responsible for ALL of the software Pansophic had and responsible for developing and enhancing the software we sold and maintained bringing in MILLIONS of dollars a year. I had 75 people, Level 1 folks that took the calls in for problems with the software, Level 2 folks that fixed the bugs and Development folks working on new enhancements for the software. I was promoted along the way and retired as Director of Software Development in Sept of 2006. I had people in Jersey, Tampa and my home office was in Lisle Ill in the building that Pansophic had built back in the early days. And NOW LIVING THE LIFE OF RILEY AS THEY SAY(HAHA). Alleyoop
