This is part of a post from the Modern Vespa forum, I thought it might be of interest here as it pertains to the chinese scooter dealer. I wish the dealer had been named. There were some amazing riders in the Cannonball group. Watching Dave, Doug and others jump in to get Lostboater's scoot roadworthy while his aches were addressed by TeacherQuinn. Seeing Motovista on the phone locating a brake line for ChuckTX when the local Suzuki dealer refused to even sell parts to a "Chinese scooter rider" (Chuck rode a Kymco, not exactly Chinese junk scooter, FWIW it was a Chinese scooter dealer that pulled a brake line off a used scooter so Chuck could get back on the road AND stayed late so it could be picked up.) Phil finished with parts from Digit's first engine. I don't know how many bits of Bagel's bike rolled across the finish line but more than one scoot was kept running by its sacrifice. Despite the disappoint Bagel must have felt he smiled and helped wherever he could. Congratulations to all and I'm glad I had a chance to spend two weeks with a great group.
