Specs do not mean anything dealers change specs to make them sell better that does not help. The motor is what is important. We know what each motor is capable and what you can do with them. You for some reason are AVOIDING PUTTING UP THE ENGINE NUMBER and it is OBVIOUS. Alleyoop I am done with this young pup you can drive on Rich. Alleyoop

ALLEYOOP, I apologize, but I said that I was not by my scooter at the moment. Sorry that I cannot give you information as fast as you need it. So you're telling me, Kymco is lying on their site when they describe engine measurements? I find this hard to believe as numerous people would run into errors fixing their scoots. Maybe rich has the patience that ALLEYOOP does not. Honestly ALLEYOOP there are 100's of sites that told me what you said when i researched days ago. If is saw anything that resembled either combo this question would'nt be asked as Iwould understand I have a GY6 in literally 3 seconds upon looking. Maybe when I take the picture of the engine you can understand the issue I am running into.

I'll see what shakes out, but "eventually, we must all squeak by." Eeky....circa 2011. Rich

Yeah man, post the pic of the engine and number and we'll see what shakes out. I'm still concerned about the Seafoam in the plug hole. It is NOT designed for that! What site told you that? Rich

Well yeah, 2T's are a different animal but I just don't agree with that procedure. I wouldn't do that to any of my bikes. There is also fluid lock from fluid being compressed inside the cylinder up against the head and valves. You wouldn't think fluid could do much but under pressure but a fluid can act like a solid...think pressure washer. That piston coming up under the geared down mechanical advantage of the starter against pure fluid can do serious damage to just about any structure involved. I remember a guy when I was a kid got water into his engine and cranked the starter. It trashed the rings and head gasket. Fluids don't compress very easily like gases do. And that Seafoam is a petro solvent, it will wash the protective coating of oil off of the rings and cylinder walls IMO. It is a petro product and similar fluids are solvents for similar fluids....i.e....petro is a solvent for petro. Ever wonder why soap works on grease? It's actually an ionic oil type substance that is a solvent for similar substances like grease (oil). Well Seafoam dissolves other petro products...like engine oil...just like gasoline does. How cool do you think it would be to put pure gas down your spark plug hole? Atomized gas is different....much different. Gotta check the compression. Rich

The number was SD10E. Also, the spark plug coil rattled so I took plug out, put it in and now it doesn't start. Compression test in am, too much frustration for one day. Scootdoc members, thank you so much!

He all, THE SPARK PLUG WAS SNAPPED. I didn't even notice that I could free spin the top and bottom of the spark plug which is no bueno. I replaced with a nice chanpion plug and definitely see my power returning. Still haven't run compression test but it appears to be back to normal and I have a new tool to use when my subuaru give me trouble! Still looking to see what type of engine I have though. Posted number last night.... Thanks scootdoc!

It's a Kymco version of a GY6. Don't worry about the number, just don't put Seafoam down the plug hole anymore young man! Don't make me come to your house! It would be ugly. Rich

I guess I'm a little confused here, I thought the bike was normal. Let's get on the same page. Did you check the compression?

So my compression test when kick starting went well above 150+ psi. When it reached 150, definitely saw slower increase in psi. Also, the darn people at pep boys gave me a different plug than my usual. Took out for compression test and after one day is white on top (part in engine).

This is how you do a compression test, you do not use the kick starter. You also must hold the throttle open. There is also a leak down test that would help a lot, that's also in the tutorial and the equipment for that can be borrowed from Auto Weinie. I talked to Jack about your problem and he feels like I do, there's a good chance the Seafoam poured into the plug hole did something to the engine...other than remove carbon.
When you say the plug is white....do you mean the electrode? Are you sure you have the right plug in there? Are you sure it's not too long?

You are going to be better off to stay with NKG plugs, champion is not a good replacement.
