Here are some of my favs, a couple old trucks and one very unusual truck. We use a system known as "mutual aid". If you look at the department names you'll notice that any given department has only 1 or 2 trucks here. Mutual aid means they are watching over other districts so every department can participate. Also, you might notice that each department has a 2# designation, like department 25 is Cricket VFD. So all their truck numbers start with 25. "Patricia" from Iredell County
Brush buggy this is an 80's model Humvee Cricket FD logo Broadway FD memory truck Only snorkel in the county Goshen still uses this old truck for fires Old truck from my community used once in a while for fires, in spite of its age Used for accidents/injuries in really rugged terrain

There are actually quite a few of them around the country. They are to promote breast cancer awareness. I know Charlotte NC has one, and another somewhere in the Triad (Greensboro/High Point/Winston Salem). This particular truck is called "Patricia" and was painted in 2012. It belongs to a neighboring county.

I would love to restore an old truck as well. My dad was a firefighter until I was 5 yrs old at Station #3 in Myrtle Beach, SC. We also used to watch Emergency! every Sat night together if he wasn't on duty and if he was, then my mom let me stay up to watch it anyways. My dad always wanted to get an old truck and restore it for parades. Shortly before he died, I actually won a bid on an old Seagraves truck, similar to the ones in the photos here. Unfortunately, my dad passed away just a couple days later. I emailed the seller on Ebay and explained what happened and told him he could just re-auction the truck. He did and refunded me the money I had already paid.
The old truck with the faded paint near the bottom of the first post is actually the first truck Millers Creek bought. When it was retired from service, they kept it around and used it to visit schools and stuff. It's never been repainted and I have seen it at the department as a stand-by when they've been out for a big fire. They've rebuilt the engine and keep all the equipment working well.

How do you know the color of my frillies? Not you Gen, I'm talking to Gear Breath. Oh...that's right....Chiles....the big margs...I forgot, an unfortunate evening. Hey, he was buying folks! I never turn down a two gallon marg! They're good for 20 to 30 minutes. I'm still not paying for those pix Beryllium Brain, you can send them to the Toledo Blade all you want, I don't care. I've been submitting images for years and they continue to ignore me:
That's as far as I can get off of the ground and my feet aren't really that dirty.
Gen, I am so sorry, your pictures, and your stories of your childhood are wonderful, this is all Cyborg's fault.
