Ever notice when you read a service manual it has each job listed with a difficulty rating? The ratings are almost always in "Wrenches" 1 wrench, a trainee monkey can do it, 5 wrenches, NASA Engineer required. So, how many wrenches is taking the right half of the crankcase off to replace it? One of the dog bone mounts is broken and I need to replace it. Can't afford to do the electric conversion YET... So, I have to fix this in the meantime. Been riding since I was a kid, but never had to work on them. Till I got a Chinese bike. *grumble grumble*

I wish. I'm told it would melt down the entire engine to do that.

I'd love to. Just one problem. That's around $2k. I'm a teacher. Say it with me class.. TEA-CH-ER. They don't actually pay us. If you haven't heard by now from your local politico, we do it for the joy of spreading knowledge, not something as crass as MONEY... Heaven forbid.
Know an engine supplier that takes payments?

So your telling us, you chose teaching as a profession knowing the pay wasn't so good!! Have you got your masters? Around here teachers make a nice tidy sum PLUS 3 months off during the summer and all those days off during the year not to bad of a gig. Of course when you first start off the pay is not so good but that is just like any other job. As you put your time in get tentured and get a masters the money comes, not to mention the pension which is pretty damn good better than S.S. S.S is poverty level for people that did not save for retirement. I know my Daughter in law is a teacher, teachs math. Not only that but my Sister in Law was just a secretary at a high school and just retired, her pension is more than S.S pays out not to shabby. Alleyoop

i would think a decent welder could get that boss put back on fairly easy,,,and inexpensively,,,just cant do it in one pass,,,have to do it in 4 letting the case cool down between,,,couldn't be more than $120-140 ,,,the hard part about the whole job is getting the mill out and over to him,,,,,,,,Got a pic?,,,,,you might not even have to take it out of the hole if he can get to it,,,,805 217 3716 take a shot and text it to me,,,please

Alley, ever hear of sarcasm? But I did not choose teaching, it chose me. To long of a story to type out on my phone.
Anyway, I'll snap some pix and post them. Maybe a video. If it can be fixed then I'll sing Hallelujah!

i'd say the only problem that could be an issue is if there is a molded rubber bushing in the eye, thats why i wanted to see a pic

Rich, That one is too easy.... Love it.
Took a quick video today as I was going to the car for something. I wasn't going to post it, but here it is in all it's horrible glory...
This is after 4 days sitting in the same spot. We may not have snakes here in Hawaii, but we make up for it with spiders.
I'll get a broom after it and make a new vid so that you can actually see what I'm talking about.

For those of you who were looking for Spiderman instead of the broken area, I grabbed it for you at 18 seconds.

Straight pipe with a spark arrestor. Loud pipes save lives!
When I first got this thing, I played nice and had a quiet box on it. After being cut off and nearly run down 3 or 4 times, I changed to this. Haven't been cut off since.
