Beginner work on a 50cc GY6 By rob (Read 248 times)

I've had a Beeline Veloce (QMB139) for a few months and its a couple of years old, and it was fine to use but my friends are getting 2-strokes that are all faster and you know how teenagers are, everything is a competition, so I was looking to increase the performance of my scoot. Therefore I've spent some money and ordered some parts for it.

47mm BBK
Sports exhaust
Performance CDI
Iridium spark plug
#75-#98 carb jets

Are there any other things that I NEED for this to work? I don't have much money to spend so if it's not immediately needed then I won't be able to get it, but any recommendations for parts in the future are welcome. 

I was planning on taking it somewhere where I can work on it, taking the whole engine off, and then putting everything together in one go. I've never really worked on a scooter before but I've been looking online a lot and I've got a fairly good idea of how things work, looking at guides and videos etc. Are there any tips that are helpful when doing this work?

Take plenty pictures of disassembly to help in the reassembly. And keep every thing well organized and labeled. And if in doubt, ask questions.

A pod filter comes to mind if you go big bore and pipe and jets ,,it'll help

Can you recommend one that's good quality but also a good price? It'd help if it was somewhere from the UK or somewhere that ships to the UK cheap.

Yes those are fine,, just be sure to measure the INLET side of the carb for it's diameter,, the side of the carb that the original intake snorkel came off of,,, you should be fine
