I'd check to see if the coil went bad,,,,that's the unit on the other end of the plug wire,,and also check if the coil is getting power also,,,,could be the cdi isn't sending the coil the signal to fire as well,,,

I took my test gauge an put the black prong into the plug wire and put the red wire on the contacts and they show 8 0hms, I'm not to good bout reading test gauges I basicly checked for continutiy kalee

I took my Ohn meter and set it for continuity and tested the 2 prongs on the coil and it shows I have continuity, dont know if this is the right way to test it or not. I'll wait for Ally I'm sure he has had this problem before. Thanks cyborg

Yea for the coil wire you can only check for continuity, Hope you found the Video on testing all the wires going and coming out of your CDI. it could be a bad pickup coil bad cdi bad coil or even a bad stator. But always check for a good ground from frame to motor first.

Checked ground from motor to frame and it tested good, still testing I think its the coil but not sure. kalee When I first bought it and rode it home, next day I went to go for a ride and it wouldnt start took it back to dealer ( had to haul it )and they said they replaced the coil. Dont know what is burning out the coil in such low mileage. kalee

Alley, I done a continuity test using a multimeter on the coil & plug wire I put the red probe in spark plug end and black probe on each spade and the hand came up to #8 on the scale didnt make a full swing from side to side, is this telling me the coil & wire are ok?

Here I go again being a little thick between the ears, while I was in the process of removing the lock for the seat I had knocked a wire loose ( This is showing everyone including myself how well these wires are put together ) . Seeing this wire kept bugging me it was a blue wire with a white stripe male bullet end and the one left open was a yellow wire with green stripe female bullet. Now normally you wouldnt put these two together, Today I hooked the two wires together and wallla I had spark at the spark plug, guess it wasnt the coil after all.It pays to have a color wiring diagram and I got mine off the SD library. And it also tells you in the diagram these wires may be different color kalee
