Most of you don't realize Cyborg aka Pete is a child molester. But he also has built many race engines and modified a boatload of bikes, some of which were in the exotic category. He's been into scooters recently but still has a motorcycle. My Frankenstein scooter has made an obnoxious tapping noise since I installed a BBK kit with a big arse cam. I told Pete about it and he immediately said "your rocker arms are hitting the valve cover or head." I thought it can't be that easy of a diagnosis but I pulled the valve cover and there were little marks in one spot on the bottom of the cover right where the exhaust rocker lived:
.
So the big cam was pushing the rocker adjusting nut into the cover. Pete said "use a ball peen and hammer out a low spot". I did some of that and then went to work on the scooter. I did get a low spot beat into it but I finished off with a file:
Problemo solved! Now, this thing hauls arse, I'm not kidding. Here it is out of mothballs and I just cobbled the wiring together. I will clean things up and tie the wiring off better but I just couldn't wait to take it out. The air filter is a mega free flow off another bike so I had to tape it off some to get enough resistance and get the mixture close. Frankie lives! And he is fast as crap. We took him out for a short ride and he pulled VERY strong on acceleration and wound out tight towards top end but I didn't push it. I really didn't ride Frankie much after the BBK, I had other bikes that I hopped on. But I think I'll give Frankie a good flogging now. Anyway, thanks Pete for the fix! Pete has big ideas for this bike. He wants me to do four valves and a new bottom end and flatside carb. He won't be happy until this thing does an 8 second 1/4. It's a silly bike that I've had a blast with. I've just did one goofy thing after another to it and never thought twice about being cool or making sense. I cut my chops on this bike and this is where I learned to work on scooters. I've stripped this thing bare so many times he tries to hide when he sees me coming. This bike has a Trail Tech R/R and I floated the ground on the stator so it has two yellows. The tank is a custom from Canyon Tanks. The air scoop is custom from one of our members, CE. I'll get a permanent air filter together but that one worked great just by guesswork. So Frankie lives and he is fun as crap! Rich

I think a decent fork would help things. Actually, a whole new frame would help. As long as it's GY6 compatible I could swap everything over to a new frame in probably a day.....maybe two. That engine is solid, Bashan makes a good engine. Everything else on that bike was pure stereotypical Chinese crap. Horrible electrics, brittle plastic, tires with defects, bent rotors, you name it. So if I could find a decent frame with a triple tree I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
