I want to post where I should so I think I am in right spot with my scooter and cc....50? I am looking for the wiring diagram for this and I have posted this in two other spots before I understood what it was telling me to do in the new to the scooter doc forum so I am putting it here too! Sorry if annoying anyone with my same question in wrong spots...so basically what I have here is my dependable scooter that I was using as convenient and cost effective means of travel until it was stolen and a month later recovered by the police. I wont bore you all with the details of that but will post before they stole it pics and after they stole it pics....they did a number on it considering it had only 802 miles on it when they stole it and 2211 when I got it back! My main issue is that they bypassed the ignition and ignition starter switch to not need the key or starting button on the handlebar and now we got all the parts and there is a issue with the new ignition not being able to plug in and make it work! It plugs in the wire harness fine and still will not start turnover nothing. They used brown extension cord to run from starter to battery and toggle switch under seat area to start it when the kill switch is on off position! I need a wiring diagram to this scooter to find out what they bypassed and cut out and all that fun aggravating stuff! Please help me find it! I will post in the right spots now that I seem to understand the 'rules for organization'.

Look in the library here.. most all of the 50's are pretty much the same. To start they all use the voltage on the brake light to energize the starter solenoid. In other words after key on which gives voltage to the brake circuit as well as a few others you grab brake and hit the starter button.
If you do not have a multimeter or test light get one, you will need to trace voltages from the battery back to the rest of the scooter.

No need to apologize...you're fine. Wiring diagrams are hard to come by for Chinese bikes. But they are all very similar. That's why you need to use a generic diagram for a GY6. The ignition switch should have a fused red wire coming from the battery. That should energize a black wire that runs to many DC components. There will be a ground wire, and a black/white kill that runs to the CDI. Here's a diagram:

Thank you! Me and my husband are looking at this awesome wiring diagram and he said that when he was fixing the taillight he saw a plug they had just left hanging there close to the left turn signal area in the rear brake light assemble and they had taken a brown extesntion cord to wire battery to the kill switch and the new button they put in since they took out my ignition. When he got new ignition he saw that the ignition plug he replaced.....the old ignition plug left in by starter had a 5 wiring fit and then new one had four however the 5th terminal goes nowhere and has nothing in the area so he is thinking the starter relay to the starter is where the problem is....What could a 2 prong wire with a male end be hanging in the back by the taillight(left taillight)? He is now wondering if the wire in question back there goes to the starter solenoid and then to battery then to starter button and this is what the problem is ? I hope I made sense....Hubby is so happy to see this color diagram you posted and we will be looking on here daily and posting progress looking at everything here....Love the scooter but have to get it running again and then ill be wanting to find some ideas to make sure it si never stolen again since a lock chain didn't work! Thanks for all the hlep

Thank you so much for this info regarding brake light and solenoid as there was a wire hanging back there that we wondered where it went and now to find this piece of info and the color wiring diagram....I know it is going to run now with the ignition! I am so grateful and cant wait to tell you it runs....this is the best thing I have found for my scooter and to have so many people here that know about them and love them too! Thanks

Husband is still in the figuring out wire stage and has his multi meter toy! The loose wire that is hanging by the right tail light is what we are trying to figure out and thinking this is why the new ignition wont let us have use of the start button....this wire is hanging there connected to nothing but the plastic piggy that could plug into something...there is two green wires in this darn thing and the wires are all right and working for the brake light and the two turn signal lights...could this be a wire that never went anywhere so we are at a dead end looking for its connection?

Do you have a break down of the AC CDI? This is what husband is muttering and looking at all the wiring diagrams in the library....

Don't obsess about electrical connectors that are hanging out in space. Many manufacturers build extra connectors in for different bikes. Now here is what you need to do:
It's a 50 cc, it is simple. A thin red wire from your battery red pole with a fuse should run up to your ignition switch. A large cable from your battery red pole should run to your solenoid. This is how the start circuit works:
Hit the button:
Here is the solenoid:
Considering the trouble you are having, have you tried kick starting? This is a 50, they are easy to turn over. GY6's, most of them, will make a spark independent of the battery. If you think the kill wire is compromised pull the black/white out of the CDI and hit the kickstart. Otherwise, just turn the key on and hit the kick. Did you look at ignition switch testing? Considering what happened it's probably a good idea. The CDI is not the issue as long as there is a power feed into it from the stator. Did you check the killswitch? At this point we need pix of the situation. Take pictures of what you have done and maybe draw some stuff out. It's hard to visualize these things from written text. Rich

kick start was removed when we got it back from the tow where the police found it from those idiots...the solenoid gives spark and engages starter but we got new ignition and it will not let us use the yellow start button to start it with the ignition key...they used a kill switch they wired to the starter...ill send some pics we believe it was stolen with the key as key was stolen too from my keychain while I was at printer in library...crafty thieves! wire that was hanging in the tail light area are to the licnese plate light and were sure are no longer part of our issue We are wandering if something went bad when they had the scooter causing them to do the hot wrie button thing as they couldn't find out what went bad...we cant either... husband and me going to ignition testing and starting there..yesterday spend time on stator and CDI but got no answers...he has bike all apart everywhere so taking pictures would be a mess but ill take them if you tell me what I should take them of...ILL put few on here and tell you what they are but he has a mess I cant understand... not sure you can get the pics this way..ill work on that one too!

I don't remember where I saw one last but there are some alarms which run off a couple aa cells that are two piece. One goes on bike and the other in pocket or purse. If the bike is messed with the alarm goes off just in pocket not on bike. If you are lucky you get to a window to see the thugs in action and what you do then is up to you.
800lb Harleys get gone every day of the week with a log chain and 5lb lock chaining them to lamp posts and telephone poles, trees and what not. Takes a good thief less than a min. to break one and him and his buddys load up in truck.
Little scooters are mostly taken by kids because of no registrations or plates makes them hard to trace.

finished testing all the wires as shown in pics for ignition switch testing all wires give 0 reading on multimeter meaning the switch is good...moving on to testing of something else...just posting all th things we are doing and the results...any ideas or thoughts or anything will be appreciated.

Thanks I will look for that as soon we get his wired correctly....meth heads of which one of them are in jail for shoplifting in Walmart and he used my scooter to get their so when cops arrested him he had my scooter and he was caught but the girl that sat in library pretending to use scooter next to me to get my keys and get the scooter key off and replace them is really the one I want busted too! They messed it so bad....cut wires, wrecked it. broke seat, back carry rack, added another thousand miles on it...it had 802 when I last checked got it back with 2206! Dummy took out ignition for whatever reason and left a open hole which made it obviously stolen or I wouldn't have it today! Wondering why they took of the kick starter and figuring out all other issues is making me madder and madder. it will be alarmed..what I do when I see someone messing with it depends on age! This is ridiculous!
