It seems to me that any one who is asking for help should be giving us the scooters engine number, the one by the kickstand in the first line of a request. I think it should be a requirement. This last one, a "2012 duster" only means some thing to the owner. There must be a half a million sales names for gy6 scooters. john

Making it a requirement would be like asking everyone to actually READ something first... How scary is that?

Now that just ain't right. You are asking so much. Personally I don't think the vast majority of those that buy these inexpensive machines knows what they have - or have not. And what is required of them to maintain them. Oh well.

In the FAQ board at the top of the site we ask them to give us the engine number. It's been read 166 times in six weeks mainly by guests. Like somebody said, it's too much trouble to provide us with info. But I agree, we could just tell them that we can't help them without the engine number. Rich

The engine/trans is a Honda CB750K5 bored to 883, cam, head work and modified carbs. The frame is custom built with '48 Indian rear suspension. It later had the frame modified, different seat, girder fork and larger gas tank but those pics where lost. I rode that for five years and even took a trip from Milwaukee, WI to Beaumont, TX and back in four days.

So let's think about all of this a minute? Engine number, need it, a requirement? Ok so it's nice to have but does it really help that much?
Guy posts on the forum that his lights are out and has a 150 scooter or a GY-6 scooter or even says I just got a scooter. Does the engine number help you at all with the lights out?
I can't get the air out of my brakes, what are some good LED's to buy, why is the speedometer off, what are some good tires to buy, how do you get the seat up, it's jammed, etc.?
Yes we have the FAQ section now, it's on the list. Ever here the saying you can lead a horse to water?
Engine number help with any of that? So why do people who buy a scooter that generally know nothing about it at all come on here and ask for help? Among many things is for all here to tell them..............
Find the engine number.
