First hello to all my name is ahmed and iam from egypt iam working in electronics and i have some experince on this field i was modified my scooter light system by swipe front turning signals into a white led lights and connect the led with a small lamp on the headlight torch second install hid xenon with ballast by arelay part with direct wires from battery since i installed it my stock battery got bad and it cannot start my scooter i bought a new one then installed it and every thing work fine for about one month now it seem to be a charging problem the scooter starts hardly then now it cannot start i kicked it and go for my work about 1 hour riding it at 80 km/h when i arrived my work let it for about 5 hours and trying to start it again it cannot start i checked the rec/reg mesure by voltmeter between green wire as ground and both white and yellow wire on AC i got 10-15 volt then i mesure the output of reg/rec without battery installed on the scooter was 6.5 at high rpm then i unpleged stator socket and do mesurment betwen green as a ground wire and both white an yellow wires was about 30 v on yellow and 35 v on white then i bought a new reg/rec install it do mesure output was 6.5 at high rpm finally i tried to charge the battery in my workshop with battery charger on 2A current for 1 hour and install battery again on my scooter and everything work fine for 3 days then it draind and cannot start my scooter is it possible that the new reg/rec was bad? or its a stator problem?
please help me solve this problem thank you

The problem is you HID headlights they are drawing to much voltage from the battery. The scooters charging systems are not the greatest and are really just on the edge. So you really have a problem because of the HID headlights. You can test the Regulator/Rectifier and see if how much it is putting out to the battery. Start the scooter up and rev it up to 3-4k rpms and with the multi meter see how many Volts it is reading revved up at 3-4k. It should be 13+volts on the multi meter. If not then disconnect your HID headlights from the battery or turn them off and do the test again WITHOUT the HEADLIGHTS ON rev it up and see if it registers 13+ volts charge. Alleyoop

Good so it is charging but because of the headlights which draw to much it brings the voltage down. But as long as the voltage does not get below 12.5 your ok. That is what just about every scooter does WHEN the HEADLIGHTS ARE on. So it is working as designed with the headlights on. You can maybe put in lower watt headlights, 25w or 35w or if you do not drive at night do not put them on just run with the running lights and not the headlights. Alleyoop

Thank you alleyoop for helping NOW I installed 2 battery after full charge and put the second battery in the scooter box under seat and connect it with other battery as parrell connection and everything is ok now I appreciate your help and support to get it work (NOT A GOOD IDEA), That is only going to work until the juice from the batteries are used up. The charging system on the scooter will not be able to charge the batteries. Alleyoop
