We have spent the weekend trying to find out what is going on with the scooter this time (other than the obvious of it being Chinese) Just kidding! Kind of LOL! However, what has happened was few weeks ago I had started the scooter and noticed it was wanting to die...like it was cold start since not ran for few days but it norm starts right up after priming it with gas upon first start by turning the gas thing few times...then I sit on it and rev it up a little and hold it there until it warms for few seconds and then I get ready to go..this day the thing kept wanting to die like it was idling low or running out of gas which is not the gas since new ignition, had gas, new cable so I know idle was good, and so I took off thinking it was just being funny as it wasn't started for few days...took off and for first five minutes noticed no issues until I had to slow down to go over bumps and that is where it died for no reason...kept turning over but not starting! Walked her home and spent this weekend messing with it and have determined it gets gas, gets spark, spark plug good so we don't know what to do now and since this forum helped me so well in past I am back...please help! AGAIN lol I noticed there was spots for similar issue but not same bike and issue lil different so wanted to start own thread

FIRST thing you want to do is ADJUST THE VALVES set them both to .003 inchs. Also do you know if the carbs fuel ratio mixture screw is plugged or not. Have you adjusted anything or changed anything on the scoot PERFORMANCE wise that is. Alleyoop Then if need be how to adjust your carbs fuel mixture: scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/1499/4ts-carb-tuning

What is the gas thing? Maybe that's part of the problem.

yes my husband ran the carb shop at van electrical for almost 10 years so he did adjust or whatever to the scoot few months ago and it ran fine all that time...not sure what all he did but he did get it to run few miles faster and then I had a wreck and it did just fine after wreck in fact it drove me home still and it was not a good wreck for me that is...scooter just got some scratches but that is why I didn't ride it for few weeks but I had still went out to start it while puttering around in the yard and all that and even took it to the gas station for fountain few times....so I don't know hubby working a lot of hours but ill tell him to do that valve adjustment deal and get back to you on that.....he will set it to that .003 and we will go from there as your the expert!
THe gas thing I was talking about is where I have to move the handlebar grip back few times before I turn the key when I go to start it after it has sat for few hours...like priming it on a mower....that's what I meant by gas thing! Girl talk lol!

Well that gas thing twisting the throttle a few times before starting it works IF THE CARB is a PUMPER CARB meaning the carb has a pump on it like this one in the picture. Which most 50cc 4 stroke carbs come with by the way. What that does is squirts some fuel inside the Venturi so when you go to start it, it has some immediate gas to burn. Alleyoop

OH! I thought you meant a primer bulb or something. If you had a spill you need to check and see if you have a vapor recovery unit. Your hubby will be able to tell. If so the check valve is flooded and the vent to the tank is cut off. It'll run for a while and then the vacuum shuts it off. An easy way to tell is loosen the cap and run it, if it doesn't stall it's a vent issue. Rich
