I have a taotao ATM 50 a1. I recently had a tuneup done on my scooter. Before the tuneup it bogged down going up hill but now it can barely climb the slightest incline! I changed the variant or wrights and installed a new clutch. Belt was replaced not long ago. But not only is it terrible up hill now but I have recently started hearing a high pitched squealing grinding noise coming from the fan side of the scooter when riding and a lot of hesitating! Any ideas? Help!

Is the engine reving really high while trying to go up a hill? It sounds to me like your belt is slipping, especially with the squeeling sound. Pull the CVT cover and see if anything looks hinky.

During the tuneup they adjusted the carberator new spark plug gear oil engine oil fuel filter and also we had to replace the head because the exhaust bolts broke inside the head. I just recently replaced the belt as well about 1 month ago.

It does not rev high when climbing hills. But it sounds like it is reving extremely high when accelerating on flat ground like it wants to go faster but can't. Also could the fan have something to do with the sound and or performance?

Could be oil is getting into the cvt and making the belt slip and squealing. Take the cvt cover off and take a video of it idling and then rev it up some so we can see how the cvt is working. So you did the tune up and not a shop right? Because if it was a shop I would find another shop. The broken studs on the exhaust could have been fixed and gotten out but that is another story. I took it to a shop cost over 200 $ for the tuneup and a new head. I have looked in the CVT recently since we just replaced the clutch and installed sliders

And we no longer go to that shop! I know they could have drilled out those studs.

Could be all the things Alley and Bash listed.
It could also be part of your tranny gears stripping out. That would suck. Check the clutch. It might not have been put back in straight.

The fan? It might make a noise if it was up against the cooling shroud but that's unlikely. Pull the shroud and look at things, if the fan is crooked it could make a noise but shouldn't affect your RPMs and performance. Make sure the stator isn't loose, we've had instances where the woodruff wasn't installed correctly or AT ALL. But your trigger pulse comes off of that so I don't think that is the case, it probably wouldn't run at all. Check out the right side, it's just one shroud, but I think it's on the left. Noises on a bike travel and you can't be sure where they're coming from. The vibration travels through the case or other metal parts and comes out elsewhere.

Check for fuel getting to the carb, Take the fuel hose off the carb and put it in a containter and crank the motor over FUEL should stream out into the container. Alleyoop

The Oopster is spot on as usual. Also, I would just forget everything they supposedly did at that shop. Let's start over. Check the valves, they can do that. Check the spark also. If you need help with those let us know.
