2nd gas fillup.. topped off 1.4 gallons... and had ridden 60 miles... 42.8 mpg... not terribly bad really.. city driving.. 20-35 mph.. still breaking scooter in.. but a far cry from the 60mpg so often quoted on videos etc

Not only give it a bit of time to break in the engine, but, also give it some more fill ups to average out the amount of fuel used. With such small tanks just a bit overfilling or underfilling can really affect the mileage calculations.

im not terribly unhappy with 48 mpg... same average on both gas-ups so far.. it is very early .. only 140 miles so far.. if breaking it in changes the mileage.. great.. i am scooting in city commuting traffic.. so that affects it no doubt..

I would think at around 1500-2000 miles you'll see the true mpg,,, and watch the tire pressure,, I've found out over the years that bikes are really sensitive to tire pressures in the mpg area,,, and have had a couple bikes that had casting porosity and they wouldn't hold air for sh!t,, so when I had the tires off I painted the inside of the rim with an industrial oil enamel,,,, BAM!!!! Problem went away

Oh yeah,,it will get better and better,,,engine will run less hot when everything mates and "breaks in" together,,,you'll probably top 70mpg if you're not leaning on the loud handle My stella is getting better by the day,,and am going longer between fillups,,,i'm just a few miles under 2000 miles

My scooter is a totally different animal, but cyborg is right about it taking more than a couple of hundred miles to loosen up. For my scoot, it was the 2500 mile oil change, before the oil screen came out completely free of debris. I had changed it at 100, 300, 600, 1000, 1500, & 2000 miles, and always had a couple of flakes of something trapped by the screen. Since that 2500 mile change, to the present 5800 miles, it has come out totally clean.
So give it some time.....it will run better and better
Check out the fuelly website if you are into long term mileage tracking

Yep errand and short stop and go you will not see high mpg as they advertize, but a lot much better than doing those short trips in your car..LOL Alleyoop

im expecting much better mileage next fillip.. just a guess.. but it occurred to me.. I'm have been riding in the 40mph range .. slow break in... and last few days.. I've accelerated to 50+ on the streets where its a mile to the next light... and the gas gauge has moved down a bit slower when i look at the miles driven since last fillip.. just a guess..

fillup at 550 miles... 2 gallons (2.06) and 102 miles on trip meter... 51 mpg.. all stop and go errands... not bad.. I can't complain about it.. its a prime reason for buying the scoot.. along with the joy of riding... i think I've topped out in mpg.. so i won't post mileage further..
