Good thing the air filter caught that piece of wood. That could have done some real damage.

Take a few deep slow breaths. O.K., What I am about to tell you requires no mechanical genius. You changed the fuel filter so you know where the fuel line is. Follow the fuel line to the carb disconnect the fuel line and place the end of the line in a jar or something else to catch gasoline. Once you have done this crank the engine for a few seconds. If you get no fuel in the jar follow the fuel line to the fuel pump it will look something like this, or like this, There are three hoses attached to the fuel pump, a fuel in, a fuel out, and a vacuum line. Make sure all the lines are securely attached, and follow the vacuum line to the carb and make sure the vacuum line is secure there as well. Test again by cranking the engine. If you get fuel in the jar the problem should be solved, reattach the fuel hose to the carb and crank the engine, it should start. If you do not get fuel in the jar, the fuel pump is the problem and it will need to be replaced. If you get fuel to flow to the jar (after removing the line from the carb) and the engine does not get gas something is wrong with the carb and it is time to make a carb help post.

I dabbled with the idea of importing bikes, not that I had the money to do so, and in doing so found out the cost of shipping bikes from the dock in China to the dock in the U.S. What I found out was that the cost of shipping a 40 foot container was about $5,000.00 and that a 40 foot container would fit about 100 bikes. That makes the cost to ship a bike from China to the U.S. about $50.00 per bike. Even doubling that cost would have little difference in the overall cost of a Chinese scooter.
Compare that to the approximate cost of $250.00 per bike to get it shipped from the U.S. warehouse to your home. Doubling this cost would make a big difference in the cost of a Chinese bike.

I get a similar result on my bike. But it is from men, and, they moon me.

Wow! Another person seeking legal advice from non-attorney strangers on the internet. Not the brightest idea. (Under VA. law if a "moped" is observed traveling over 35mph the "moped" is then considered a motorcycle. If you are trying to exploit a loophole in the law make sure you know where that loophole is.)
Wow! What hardship having to go to work four miles away. Back in my day we had to walk five miles to school, up hill, both ways. But seriously, four miles is not too far to walk, maybe an hour and fifteen minute walk. Many people have a longer commute in a car, and this trip could be made in less than a half an hour on a bicycle.

2 strokes have been run for a million years by lubing the fuel why change a good thing. How many times do you need to be told not to exaggerate? (Perhaps two million times?) But, on point. The last time I kitted a 50cc two stroke I started with an 86 jet and then went to an 84, but, that was going with a 65cc kit not a 70cc kit. You may want to start with an 88 jet and see where you should go from there.

The short story is that many of the lesser quality "schlock" scooter distributors have left the US. I knew that many of the dealers, and importers, with a lesser reputation have left the market. I did not realize that the majority of the scooter was for the smaller size. I just hope that there is enough demand for the 250acc scooters to come back. By the way, I have just noticed today that searching the net for Scooter Depot does not result in finding their web site. The complaints about them are still there, just no web site.

I have noticed that the number of 250cc Chinese scooters available from online scooter dealers is way down. Does anybody here know the reason?

I have noticed that the selection of scooters that the online dealers have is getting a bit thin. Are there new batches of scooters in the shipment pipeline, and if so, where in the pipeline are they?

I have no experience with either bike, but, I would go with the Honda Elite. Why? Well that bike has an odd clunky look that is cool in its own way.
