Bashan, JR, Alleyoop, If the third link says that EVEN IF you are suspended for DUI related conviction(s) you must be in compliance with any and all court stipulations BEFORE YOU OPERATE A MOPED/SCOOTER, then why would one who is not suspended for any of those things be prohibited from riding because of suspension? Im confused! I feel as though the trooper or many lawmen maybe just didnt know the law, or that it changed reguarding mopeds/scooters...if so, thats very scary to think i could be falsey charged or even arrested even while operating inside the law!

Same thing has happened in other states. Don't think I would try to fight it unless I hired a high priced lawyer. If you go to court with out one, the judge will listen to the trooper.
Most states say a 50cc scooter can be ridden if you have a drivers license and you do not need an endorsement. More than a 50cc all states require a motorcycle license.

In Wisconsin any mo-ped requires a license with motorcycle endorsement. Also you can get a DWI conviction with out arrest/ticket, without a BAC or even a trial. They will just issue a warrant for arrest with out notification. If you don't find out about the warrant and turn yourself in, they can arrest, put you in jail and of course there will be another huge fine. We no longer live in a civilized country.

Wow! Another person seeking legal advice from non-attorney strangers on the internet. Not the brightest idea. (Under VA. law if a "moped" is observed traveling over 35mph the "moped" is then considered a motorcycle. If you are trying to exploit a loophole in the law make sure you know where that loophole is.)
Wow! What hardship having to go to work four miles away. Back in my day we had to walk five miles to school, up hill, both ways. But seriously, four miles is not too far to walk, maybe an hour and fifteen minute walk. Many people have a longer commute in a car, and this trip could be made in less than a half an hour on a bicycle.

In all 50 states, suspended means no driving. period. regardless of what the interweb says. if the courts are saying bend over and take it like a man then guess what?

Looking back at the first line in the first post, "42 mph" that is motorcycle license territory not moped.

Get yourself a bicycle. In every state if it's electric and only goes up to 17mph you don't need a license or registration. For four years I rode one around Green Bay and later Appleton. It could easily go 5 miles each way everyday. Or get yourself some friends.

Boy, it sucks to be you. Your actions are making your life far more complicated than it should be, and you are finding out that "actions do have consequences"......this is a lesson better learned as a youngster.
Hope they don't revoke your license. Might be time to try living within the law......life is so much easier when you do.

I've been on the wrong side of the law more times than I care to recall,,,,lost my license 4 or 5 times,,street racing mostly,,,been there unfortunately,,,,advice from an old cruster? Get an attorney ,,,he/she will get you a restricted license so you can go to work and back,,,,it's worth every penny,,,,and if the lawyer is real good you can get the restriction so you can go to the store and stuff,,,I got into stuffing v8 sprint car engines in 914 Porsches ,,,,I could wallpaper a bathroom with all the tickets I got

Honestly; unless you can get the senator to pardon you on your scooter, the only advice I can give that'll keep you out of trouble, woukd be to get a bicycle, and try to get your lisence back. The IDGAF asvice would be to pock another route, and keep it under 35. Drive it like theres cocain under the seat.
