Just saw this about hanjin shipping. They carry most of the china machines over and they are bankrupt. www.wired.com/2016/09/hanjin-bankruptcy-shipping-economy/A good % of scooter costs are from shipping so if your putting off buying one you might need to save a bunch more to include higher shipping.

I dabbled with the idea of importing bikes, not that I had the money to do so, and in doing so found out the cost of shipping bikes from the dock in China to the dock in the U.S. What I found out was that the cost of shipping a 40 foot container was about $5,000.00 and that a 40 foot container would fit about 100 bikes. That makes the cost to ship a bike from China to the U.S. about $50.00 per bike. Even doubling that cost would have little difference in the overall cost of a Chinese scooter.
Compare that to the approximate cost of $250.00 per bike to get it shipped from the U.S. warehouse to your home. Doubling this cost would make a big difference in the cost of a Chinese bike.

I have to agree. I did some looking into the same thing before I made a purchase. You pay more for shipping in the states than the importers do. Its still not a bad deal considering other bikes. I can't ride a straight up bike any more, I am a vet. So the only way I was going to ride again was a scooter. I choose the ice bear cyclone with the touring package. Its great to be able to ride again. Thanks to the webmaster of this site and its members. I have learned many things here from this board and much grateful. Looking forward to meeting some of you. Happy birthday to my marine corps too.
