You and me both Borg. I'm seeing cheap 250 dual sports online and used Japanese bikes on Craigslist. I started using the wife's bike last summer, while she's battling, to keep the dust off it. It's stirred the urge again. I never should have sold the W650.

Recently got me a used Yamaha V Star 1100cc Put 3,000 miles on it in one month and just triked it. Nice... just rode from Florida to Oklahoma and am totally pleased

I know you go for trikes, but man... VStar 1100 is a nice set of 2 wheels. Too bad you had to add a third.

Great bike!! the v star is an excellent machine,,,how'd you deal with the shaft?,,convert it to chain? to transmit power to the third member that is?,,,,Oh and welcome back MaGoo,,,i was thinking about you the other day,,,,i was hoping you were ok,,,Please post a pick or two,,,i'd like to see how the conversion was done,,,thanks

Yep been gone for a while. am in Oklahoma now and yes I drove the trike 75 and 80 all day long from Florida. What a nice machine... I do ride it as a cycle too, the kit was custom made in Florida and 4 bolts and she is off. I find the V Star 1100 is very well balanced and have put over 3,000 miles on her before the kit was made. I have no issues with the 3 wheels in the rear. When this rear tire wears I will put a car tire on the bike as I did on the Silver wing

Yes about the V Star being a great ride. I only ride trike due to health issues. A ride on a trike is nothing like a bike ride but than it is not bad, what can I say I love scooters and motor cycles and now it's trike time in my life.

Nothing bad about Trikes, for some of us that still want to ride and feel the wind and fresh air in our face and can no longer handle just two wheels and feel safe it fits the bill.

Right on Alley... We have a lot of trikes in Florida mostly elderly as you and I are and some unable to ride 2 wheels for health reasons as we also are. Bummer as it is we still have a blast. With that said I still want to try and ride the V Star from here to Florida but than what do I do about the kit??

Said it before and I'll say it once again,,, if disability or age or both get to me I'd have a trike in a heartbeat,,,,, as Alley just said,,, gotta have that wind in my face,,, been crappy and cold/raining on and off here for a few days so I haven't been riding,,, I miss it,, I ride tomorrow thank goodness

Yep. I have nothing against trikes, but as long as God lets me, I'll be on 2 wheels instead. But if I hit that point, you better bet I'll be on a trike.

Cyborg the rain has been really bad here too. I had to follow the radar and watch my route weather until I found a window of no rain to make the trip last week from Florida. Had a day of cold in the am one day but all rain clear. Enjoy the wind today
