It can't be timing. It isn't like it has a distributor or flex plate that can go out of whack. Believe me, if the valve timing was out you would definitely know it. I had mine out by one tooth on my GY6 and the engine really ran like crap.
I would start the scooter and spray water mist next to the pipe while it's running to see if there's even the slightest leak anywhere. Remember that exhaust at that point is at about a zillion degrees and only needs the slightest spray to get the tire hot.

Think the pipe is too close It is but that's how all of them are. I have four mufflers and 3 250 scoots. I want to test the other cfmoto but it needs a swingarm bearing first. I have not ridden the third one yet. It needs some work. I have written to several cfmoto shops but none replied. How rude!

Thank you. Do you know how to remove the rubber bearing seal without damaging it? That's a super nice selection of parts, including body panels and decals. A lot of good prices too, but they want 570 dollars for a carb? Anybody want to buy a couple of used cfmoto carbs?

You be running the honda shaft in that assembly correct? I have no idea. I'm hoping the Honda Helix and cfmoto Fashion parts are interchangeable.

Yes I installed the Honda shaft to circumvent future breakages. I have a Chinese shaft on the shelf as a spare. The $570 carburetor is a Keihin. CF Moto uses a combination of Japanese and Chinese made parts.
Do you know how to remove the rubber bearing seal without damaging it? I would think that by pressing the bearing out by smacking the back side of it might push it out. Otherwise I would just buy a new one.

No. When I changed the tire this last time I found one of the muffler mounting points was cracked. I used JB Weld to secure it but bought a replacement to put on after the next tire.

You spent WHAT on a carb? Braddah, I got some of those special $100 government pencils for sale...
JB Weld melts with high heat. Probably not the best choice for a muffler mount.
