Are DR. Pulley Variators marked "DR. Pulley" any where on the variator ? I bought one for my 157 qmj engine, not marked except for three "S" looking marks.

No they are not marked DR. Pulley on the Variator, But I bet the 3 "S" your talking about are in 3 of the RAMPS where the weights go in. "S" stands for STRONG(TOP END) "L" stands for LIGHT(LOW END TORQUE). Alleyoop

Thanks for the reply ,,, No these are just three slanted, elongated s looking things with a line under it. I'm sure it is legit because where I bought it from in 2010. I was just curious because I'm changing my sliders and didn't notice any maker etc marks other than CF-125 and G08-1. I have two more questions Alley then I'll clam up. Variator diameter, where is that measured, the full width of the pulley, the part that holds the sliders? If I want to try 13 gram sliders can I mix half 14 gram and half 12 gram alternated around the variator i.e. 1-12, 1-14 and so on.. Thanks for the help.

You measure the variator from center Here is MY performance variator for my 157QMJ motor. Mixing weights do not work to good because you have to put 3 of each so what happens is the heaver weights go out first and the lighter weights hang behind until the rpms get high enough to create enough centrifugal force to get the lighter weights to where the heavy weights are. I personally don't like to mix but you can try it and see if you like it. Alleyoop

OK Alley, thanks again for the help. My pulley does measure 120MM so I'll stay with that. I'll play with the 12 and 14 gram sliders seperately again then probably order some 13's if I need to. All the best,, Harv..
