If they want it, they'll get it, but you gotta make them work for it. I use a ulock around my back wheel. A motorcycle can wiegh 2000lbs, and they do get stolen. It's sad to think about. I was surprised the one day I left my scooter on the street, unlocked, over night, and it was still there. Once it was chained up, but I forgot the keys were in the seat lock. Be a man, and buy your own bike, or parts.

A good lock and an Eectric Starter/Alarm installed. I got mine off ebay for $28 shipped. And its LOUD AS HELL. Its all motion activated. When You touch the scooter it starts beeping really loud slowly then stops. If your moving it without deactivating it, that joker gets really loud and has a really loud wistle. All plug and play, Installed very easily. Plus I have a lock to just in case. Most places, I just park all the way in the front. Where everyone normally is. But I still set the alarm and getting a cover is wise to. There pretty cheap on ebay also.

I had a scooter stolen that was chained to a railing, in front of a very modern CCTV camera, in broad daylight, on a busy car park, they just walked up with massive bolt cutters, cut the chain off, broke the steering lock and wheeled it off, I was only in the swimming baths for 20 minutes!
What really sucked was the CCTV clearly captured these people on camera and the police didnt even bother following it up....

Maybe you should ask to see the chief and then ask why they aren't checking out there leads sometime the squeaky wheel gets the grease if you get my drift. Then tell them you will be back weekly to keep up on progress you just never know instead of seeing you all the time they just may do there job
