utterly grenaded today, we went over or in to something, and blam, noise, rubbing, we get off, and the bike is laid out like a Rukus. I can see the shock body, and springs, it's the rods that have disapeared. s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/58/f0/5a/58f05a4ba1b741415586aa26557b5a67.jpgSo much for going to the concert we were going to go to, I need to find replacement, non oem style coilovers. I hate this citys screwed up roads.

Are you sure nut didn't come off and shock closed down? Nope, it broke, what you see is the spring portion against the frame of the bike, the upper mount is completely facing opposite direction, the rod snapped off the uppermount. What I have found locally(as no money to order online, or aftermarket better stuff) is at my local honda dealership; is a set of oem PCX150 rear coilovers, that I suspect are better than any oem replacement china gy6 coilovers. From what I've found, the PCX is 422, with a higher rear ride hieght, 14" rims, and possibly being 122lbs heavier, possibly has a sligjtly greater payload capacity, my point; unlike my bikes 335mm coilovers, it has 313mm coilovers, although it's possible the upper points could be mounted lower in the frame, I don't see them being a little shorter being too bad. I'm sure they're stronger higher quality, and they're adjustable, and I might be able to have them adjusted about 3notches. I%ve read where people have mentioned the 150&300cc models ride pretty stiff, and some others have said they ride soft- which may be the 125 model, as the posters were either in the uk, or taiwan. I did wonder about the design of the valve body being on top, versus on the bottom. I also wonder how often the shocks fail on gy6 bikes, I ride my fiance a lot, she wieghs about 180, and I'm about 220, and it has a 310 wieght limit, which I think is mainly the coilovers, since accelleration isn't really that bad, just a few seconds slower to 35mph(a little faster in cool weather), it'll reach 45-50 with us, and climb steep hills at around 35mph.

I'm also looking for Vento forks, since they're much stiffer than those walmart mtb forks gy6 bikes come with.

I ended up with another pair of gy6 coil overs far less than the pcx ones. A set of shocks with the yellow springs on them, they aren't adjustable, but they are stiffer. I never noticed that different shocks were used on different bikes.
