Hey Guys.
I am noticing a grinding sensation in the drivetrain when riding at times. Not all the time. Its like a smooth grind that's not really hard. But it like goes in and out for a bit. Then sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't. It has to be coming from the drivetrain. Any ideas of what that might be?
TaoTao 50cc has a stock variator and clutch. Dr. Pulley 5gram slider weights installed and aftermarket exhaust. But I feel the sensation in the drivetrain at times.

You sure it is GRINDING and NOT METALLIC RATTLING ? Grinding is not good check your rear brake it may Be a little engaged. Rattling the weights will usually do this and come and go depending on the rpms.

I think it is and might be the ratting of the weights. Remember when I had those 8gram weights in? It didn't seem to do that. Maybe its because of the lighter weights that's happening?
Im also going to purchase the Koso Variator. Saw that you have one and said that its good.

It's actually more of a vibration then a grinding. Like a smooth vibrating sensation.

Check you bolts on the engine mount and wheels. These motors are not smooth by no means and they do shake rattle and roll as they say. So if the motor is not tuned to run as smooth as possible it will cause more shake rattle and roll.

I'm gonna check them out. Thanks Alley. I also installed the Koso variator today. Seems a lot better. More smooth riding and better acceleration.
I was thinking of maybe starting to tune the carb. Someone told me that since I changed the exhaust, I should have a bigger jet in the carb. My carb is sealed. Any suggestions on What you think is good?

I had my Dad ride it the other day. When he came back, he said its probably the CVT Belt that makes that feeling. Its not something you can hear, its more of a feeling like from the belt he said. Is it possible that maybe the CVT belt is not tight enough? Which I don't know how it would affect that. Alley what do you think?

Also. Where do I look for the motor mounts so I can make sure all the bolts are tight. I'm also gonna check the exhaust bolts.
