Anyone have the manual for a Lucheng/Geely 50QT-15? (Chinese scooter, 50cc, 2 stroke, circa 2003~2004)
My question is: why is 30 mph the max speed? Is it their assessment of the engine's RPM limit, the scooter's structural integrity, or the tires, etc?
And has anyone taken it above 30 mph? If so, what was your experience?
My wife was given one for Christmas around 2003-2004 when she lived in Hawaii and this thing hasn't been driven in a long while, so I am currently refurbishing it, and wanted to ask the question....

They made two types 1 a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke. If you have the 2 stroke it is a chain drive and you cannot make them into a hotrod you are stuck at whatever top end it is getting. The only thing you can do with them is try and find a larger FRONT SPROCKET that will fit and or SMALLER REAR SPROCKET or both to get a little more top end. And may I add Geely parts are hard to come by.

Just got one of these. Not at all a wet clutch and chain. Has a top mount starter motor so not a Morini. Maybe a Minarelli, but hoping for a DIO clone. I'll try to get a pic.

Have you ever taken apart an old washer machine the tumbler parts, the gears inside. They may be used in the geely chain driven setup and they are metal. Im gonna find out. thanks.
