I have a question about how tight the steering head needs to be? not trying to get bike specific. it might just be me but the steering on my jonway 150 seems "sloppy", like it's loose but everything seems normal upon inspection. is there a specific tightening sequence or torque for this?

If you can rock the handlebars they are loose, grab the handlebars and try pushing them forward and back towards you if you can rock them then they are loose and need some tighting.

there isn't any "play" in the handlebars, no front to back or side to side movement and everything checks out normal. I wasn't sure how tight was too tight.

They should turn nice and smooth they are riding on a bearing on the bottom of the Tree and on Top of the Tree. So smooth turning with no play is what you want. Alleyoop
