Hey,
Well my little blue crappy cdi "performance" off ebay screwed up my starter clutch and now that i got that replaced I want to switch cdi's completely, I was looking at the adjustables problem being theres not a whole lot of info on them, the best I can gather is when you twist the adjust screw clockwise you advancing timing on low rpms but cause a kick back and thus were im at now with the blue cdi, and couter clockwise "Retard" improves on your higher rpms kinda were you need to be "so im told" but my question is how close is that to true and will it cause any ill affects lilke advancing timing on the lower rpms?
Also does any 1 else have a good tutorial on adjustable CDI'S, or have 1 that performs well and dont fubar your starter?

Is this the same cdi they sell on ebay? And if not what makes this 1 better than the rest? I had ordered about 15 different cdi's the one I linked you to has a video. Watch the video, as for the others on ebay don't know there timing curve. I can tell you you will get the cdi in the link with the timing curve in the video. Out of the 15 cdi's they all had different timing curves. Have you watched the video? Do you have a complete understanding of what it is showing? I have some cool looking cdi's I'll give you just pay the shipping ( they are very colorful) no benefit do to timing curve. John

Tvac I watched the video and yes I see were the timing advances under throttle, what I was saying Ive seen the exact looking cdi on ebay those gold cdi's that have Casoli on them that dont mention anything about variable timing just that it has a 4 degree advance on them.

I cannot tel you about what the ones on EBAY DO OR NOT DO but, I was the original guy that found the one that JOHN now sells. It said it would was an advancing CDI. So I asked john if he could order one for me since it was from overseas. He ordered a few and I bought one from him. Now the reason I needed one that was advancing and not fixed from the get go was due to my extra compression and BBK it would KICKBACK really bad starting it. I had bought 3 different ones the NCY one, a regualar orange perfomance one and a purple one but they where all fixed advance and would cause terrible kickbacks on my poor Starter CLutch. So I had to use the Original Standard on UNTIL the advancing one worked like a charm. IT is RETARDED for starting and then advances when given throttle PERFECT no kickbacks and I had a little more power. So if you like that and need what it does then to make sure you get what you want you must buy one from JOHN none of us really knows what the ones on ebay do or not do. Alleyoop HERE I CREATED A THREAD ABOUT MY PROBLEM AND WHAT SOLVED IT: scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/7117/kickbacks-when-starting?page=1&scrollTo=55589

So now you all are seeing what i am.... okay so there all the same cdi, im going to order this 1 and another I saw around a "Naruku Racing", and since the cdi are pretty cheap I would like to make a video of there overall performance with each 1, I have the 1p57qmj motor so I cant go with a bbk or cams from what I understand without bottoming out the springs so im going to push it as much as possible with out those 2 mods, and post up at the end what all I did so people with the same motor have a few options.

It would save a lot of trouble if you could add a variable mount on the engine for the pick up coil even if it wasn't adjustable while riding. Some of those cdi's that were not usable still could be used.

i just dont see why it's such a big deal to make a true advancing curve cdi,,,cars and motorcycles have had them for decades,,,and worldwide sales of scooters is huge,,,(epic porportion huge) so i would think they'd be everywhere,,,,it's not like there's no volume to support the developement
