Poofy happier? Lol, cyborg , I'm not sure that I follow but, I smiled! Ok, I FINALLY found a rig that got that bolt off. I DO have 2 rollers with bad spots on them. I weighed them at 12.7 gms. They are 14.08mm wide and 17.78mm in diameter so, 18 x 14 and 13 gm weights. Uploading this first shot of all the kickstart gears, undisturbed, it's my first look at that second gear as you mentioned Alleyoop . I'll open my pic and yours side by side to see if I can catch on to what you see

That second gear , looks to me to be aligned a couple of teeth too high on the left, yes? I have not yet placed the kick lever on to actuate the gears . I will go give it a go, now.

Have to say young lady you are a hell of a mechanic with very good diagnostic abilities. Hell you tackle anything and have a lot more up there than most scooter mechanics. By the time we get done with this rust animal you will be more proficient on what does what and what to do and fix than many on the forums, I kid you not. Yes it is off a little but the way it is malaligned would still turn the crank. I see your problem (BUMMER) The CRANK GEAR TEETH are worn down and the teeth are not meshing. So you need a new Grank Starter Gear. On the weights, you are correct they are 13gram , that is a little heavy for the 150-s. If you want a little more kick in the rump get 11s or 12s-- You have 13s now and slapping in 12s will raise your RPMS by 500-600, 11s will raise your rpms by 1000-1200. Alleyoop Starter gear for 150cc and 125cc GY6 4-stroke QMI152/157 QMJ152/157 engines. Count the TEETH on yours and get one with the same number of Teeth for a 150cc with your MOTOR TYPE. www.partsforscooters.com/164-205_GY6_Starter_Gear

Look at Gear #2 on yours, yours looks like it is out of alignment. But the way it is out of alignment should still move the crank maybe not enough but still mesh with the crank gear. So if when you kick it does it actually turn the motor over AT LEAST SOME or none at all. If none at all the it is not meshing with the crank gear. Sorry My computer got locked and It was late and today I had a 7:00 am appointment for surgery so I left the post unfinished. Today I had Surgery on my Left hand for Carpal Tunnel and am limited to my right hand for the most part, in 4 weeks the right one will be operated on. Alleyoop

Gee, Thanks! Coming from you especially, that is very encouraging! I'd like to thank the Academy... lol! No, I always make sure to thank my brother for coaching me out of any fear of working on my own vehicles yet, cautioning me to have enough apprehension to check things out before proceeding, since I was 17 years old. However, I am taking much coaching here, reading here on the forum and learning so much! As my tagline says ; "My willingness exceeds my aptitude" On the rollers, I'm thinking to go with 12gm weights thinking that, I'll sacrifice a little bit of max top speed, but will be able to get up to speed quicker for the short HWY run and the one hill that I will have to climb to my sisters, yes? Lolol! ...a "Rust animal", it IS! I think, we have found my scoots official name! Okey doke ! I've got that gear a'comin' ! Here is what I got when I dusted off and re-aligned it all. Oh my gosh, Alleyoop ! It seems that too many peeps in my circle are having to have that surgery! I sure hope it works well for you. My closest buddy has finally had success with his. He is an HVAC guy and he was in much pain before the surgery but, is doing very well with it now. I'm sure that you have worked those hands hard. BIG hugs to you, and I hope that recuperating goes well for you ! I see what ya did there!.... "Crapal Tunnel"

So, the rain has been intermittent here the last few days and I've been waiting on parts to arrive. I finished removing the rest of the panels from the scoot and scrubbed 'em down for sanding . Yup, my scoot is "Nekie" Hopefully, there's still enough dry time in this season to allow me to get paint onto these in time :/ I've also got all of the hardware sitting in apple cider vinegar to remove any rust and, it's doing the job! So, I stuck some of my tools in a jar with some too ! I got a CVT belt, 12 gm sliders, and a kick start gear in today . That kickstart gear just comes off of the shaft with a puller, then I should be able to tap it back with a large socket or something, with the punch mark horizontal on the right side until it seats, and no grease? I've looked for a video but haven't found a one that deals with more than aligning the gears . Alleyoop , how are you healing up ? Doing okay?

Not a good way the way he used to hold the other side of the crank. What he used was that holder on the FLYWHEEL(NOT GOOD) he could of damaged the woodruff key and or the FLYWHEEL SLOT for the woodruff key.
You should use a SOCKET on the NUT holding the FLYWHEEL since your tightening the Variator nut you would also be tightening the FLYWHEEL NUT.
But a safer way is to get a longer SLEEVE or TUBE against the gear that extends out past the crank then with a piece of board on the end of the SLEEVE or TUBE hammer it on. my .02 Alleyoop

Okie doke, thanks again Alleyoop. That's more like what I was originally thinking. I probably will use his idea of heating the gear in the oven first since, I don't have a torch. Good thing that I don't have a wife to upset when I take my toaster oven out to the yard with me As for tightening the bolt, I will use a combination of what you suggest and also reinforce my hold by reversing the direction of the setup I rigged to hold the variator and use my torque wrench. I read to torque it at about 25 Ft Lbs. I'm thinking RED loctite too.
