If the NEW diaphragm came with a needle I would take the needle from the old diaphragm and swap. The needles that come with the aftermarket ones I found are of different size, some thicker some thinner. And that may be the cause of the mid-range hiccups.

My post from about 4 hours ago i said the top end surging was back from a rich condition, the 92 was great in cooler and cold weather but not 80 plus degree days

Don't do squat until you try it with the needle swap. You always work from the bottom up last is the 1/4 throttle which is when the main jet really comes in needle fully out and getting all the fuel the jet and needle is allowing due to size. Alleyoop

Then put in a 90-91 that should cover cooler and hot temps.

Just remember you do not have Fuel Injection which senses when the air density changes and adjusts the fuel mixture. You will have to settle for a medium where it runs good in hot or cold temps and may only require a minor adjustment of the fuel ratio mixture. But I can tell you this in HOT weather you will loose power all motors do mo matter what you do.
